Well this is unnecessary.

 

The is one of the most fun threads in here. We've talked about so much different and fun things.

Well you've mostly talked about nu metal. Haha

 

And classic rock! And Metallica! And there was section where I tried to talk about the glorious 2000 era type bands like SOTY, Yellowcard, Thrice, Used ect and got piled on but its all good. You can't force good stuff down people's throats.

But yeah, there are huge sections where bands I don't know are talked about and I just enjoy the conversation without commenting, dunno what it does to call a thread called unpopular opinions dumb because you don't agree. Isn't that the fun?

Of course not, if you are doing it right there is no forcing. Only accepting the greatness

 

I've listened to five albums from The Used and three from SOTY. There is nothing great about any of them

 

pinegrove is just scene by association. theyre about to pull a reverse cymbals eat guitars tho and blow up in indie circles. whereas cymbals eat guitars now opens for brand new and say anything. which isnt bad at all obv i love ceg is just interesting how they emerged in indie circles and now are being embraced by the scene. its good.

 

honestly the first two used albums BANG, well half of each

 

First Used album is still pretty much perfect to me.

 

Oh no a Used discussion. Time for me to be a broken record and say Artwork is underrated and is great!

 

The scene will keep them alive. The indie crowd tend to be done with you after an album or two and move on to the next big thing

I think this is fair about the first one. I enjoy about half of it. Both albums have their jams, but I have never enjoyed a full album from the Used no matter how much I tried to

 

This just reminded me that I never got into Cymbals Eat Guitars, maybe it's time to give them another shot too.

 

Without looking up a tracklisting to verify, I feel like I pretty much like the entire first Used record

Moshing is the fucking worst. So stupid.

 

The Used don't have a great record, they're all ok. Except the last one, that one pretty much sucks. SOTY is similar, though I prefer them - really dig The Black Swan.

 

I thought the Used didn't age well for me but I found their self titled tour super cathartic. I hadn't really listened to that album since I was a teen and it had whole new meaning as an adult. It made me reflect on a toxic relationship and it weirded me out to think that my ex used to blast those songs and sing along in the car, and years later I'd listen to those same songs and apply them to him. Kinda blew my mind lol. Plus Bert was super positive and motivational so it was kind of an emotional experience. I totally did not expect it at all. I just went cause my sister wanted to go and I thought I'd feel so-so about it

 

The Used dont get enough credit
