Last medley is hard as shit and I don't think it's physically possible on hardest difficulty, it seems unfathomable

 

I want a Life is Strange sequel/another game in the same vein made by them so badly. What an incredible game.

 

@Spencer Control played remember me, the game that came before LIS by the same developers.

 

yeah, it's a pretty different game thematically but it has the same sort of care that goes into its world building which is cool. quality dev team.

 

Sadly, I don't think we get her this time around. She was seriously one of the only people I played.

I ordered Zodiac Age as well. Wish there were a pre-order bundle, but its cool.

 

I think I have that downloaded from a while ago and only played an hour of it, I'll have to go back to it soon.

 

Their games have been, rightfully, criticized for poor to godawful performance. The main issue is with the engine which was created by the CEO back when they were a small indie dev. The rumor is that he was adamant that they kept the engine.

Releasing games on 360 with bad performance and then re-releasing on Xbox One with WORSE is a joke. Like a joke. My understanding is that the developers were getting pretty fed up with it.

 

gotcha. yeah, looking around, it seems like popular opinion of them has faltered. like i said, i enjoyed TWD s1, but had some issues with the overarching story, and haven't gone back to any of their other releases yet. uh, shit, except the Puzzle Agent games, which i actually loved for their bizarre humor, twin peaks + fargo references, and relatively competent presentation.

 

Haven't played them. I have an assumption that someone who serial licenses franchises like walking dead and batman isn't going to write a good story. And the games are all about that and nothing else. That plus there's only been like 10 good video game stories like ever anyways. i.e. I'm extremely uninterested and skeptical

 

i dont know about all that but i have a hard time playing a game whose sole selling point is its plotline

 

i think franchise options are probably inherently limited in that there are either characters, environments, or tones that you're forced to constrain your story to rather than that you can develop a story to organically have, but i wouldn't go so far as to say pulling from a franchise means it's not a good story. Batman comics and films often have lots of good stuff going on, and TWD probably could if it figured out how to stretch its mold a little bit (both the show and the game, havent read the comics).

that said, yeah, there comes a point where a regular reliance on established franchises calls into question your artistic integrity, i think. i'm not sure if it's too cynical to think that's just the easiest short term cashflow route.

I think the most pointless thing about the sleeping dogs dlc is that nothing carries over besides your moves and health.

I want to drive my nice cars and funny clothes.

that said yeah it's not looking great, even ignoring the dodgy animation, the writing and voice acting just do not sound up to snuff. damn shame.

 

Just played the first thirty minutes of Kona and it has me intrigued and hooked, somewhat feels like Firewatch but has more gameplay going for it.

 

so excited for this! maybe i'll play some tony hawk 4 this weekend. I need to get another copy of THUG for my gamecube. loved that game.

 

Watching that legit gave me goosebumps

 

Really loving Nier so far. Are the Drakengard games worth checking out if I can get my hands on them?
