Pup isn't very good

 

Woah. For some reason I didn't see you having this opinion at all haha. But I kind of agree, they do nothing for me, anyway

 

i went to a PUP show because rozwell kid was opening. i was really impressed with their live show but i can't get into the studio stuff, guess i gotta give it another shot

 

I feel like I should like them. I'm not sure what it is. They've got a couple songs that are cool, but I don't think they're anywhere close to a song good as most do. It's you and me vs the world, Trevor

 

Not at all controversial, as far as I'm concerned. Jim Steinman had been writing his whole life for that and Todd Rundgren's production was amazing

 

i see so much hate for it and part 2 and its ridiculous

 

I've tried to give Modern Baseball a chance, but it keeps sounding like whiny vocals over shitty music.

 

Part 2 definitely isn't as good, but there's still a lot to like on it

 

I disliked them until the newest album, so I feel this

Modern Baseball newest album was more well put together. Decent transition band.

"For a solid 18 months, from 2002 to 2003, there was likely no band I listed to more than Thrice. To me its first three albums (Identity Crisis, The Illusion of Safety, and The Artist in the Ambulance) formed a musical trinity of pop-punk lyrics, post-hardcore vocals, and thrash riffs. Then the band’s fourth LP, Vheissu, arrived, eschewing the tried-and-true and replacing it with some Radiohead-lite sonic experimentation. Although lead track “Image Of The Invisible” seemed like it could have been the fourth single from The Artist In The Ambulance, songs like “Between The End And Where We Lie” and “Atlantic” sounded like discarded Dismemberment Plan demos or The Get Up Kids-penned elevator music. And to a snot-nosed brat like me, it all sounded like a band desperate to appear important, as if it was embarrassed of its past. Was I wrong to jump ship? Probably. I didn’t listen to any of the subsequent albums and was so ignorant to its new output that when a friend invited me to see the band’s 2012 farewell tour (it’s since reunited), I only knew half the songs on the set list. But, let’s be honest, those were the best songs."

I don't agree, but I get it. They completely changed their sound. It probably goes both ways if someone got into Thrice with Beggars or something and went back to the first few not knowing they were heavy and fast.

 

I could only get into a few songs off Artist in the Ambulance. Went to their show last year and left after Gates and La Dispute.

 

But La Dispute is really bad live and they only play a few songs off Artist live.

 

They surprisingly weren't that bad. I could just never get into Thrice. Always bored me.

 

La Dispute is fantastic live unless you already aren't into their music

 

True. I cannot get into them so live it just seems like the singer is jumping around yelling lol. My favorite band tends to keep bringing them on tour so I'm screwed in that department lol.

 

It's always amusing when someone gets upset at a band they like for not releasing the same album over and over again.

 

La Dispute were great when I saw them.
