Got this idea from an episode of Frame Trap, an Easy Allies podcast. Basically try and predict what your top 10 games will be at the end of the year and then see how close you get, lol. Obviously it's difficult because you're comparing games you've played to ones you haven't and games that might not even come out this year. I thought it was fun though and I wonder how close I'll end up being.

It was a single post made 3 hours ago with no follow up. So, you know, I had stopped. That's literally the definition of stopping.

Also The Witness was trash. Colourful trash, but trash.

The post itself was just.. weird and uncomfortable. You can dislike a game, but that's an extremely strange way to convey that

 

Nah it's quite bad. Being really really pretty, super long, and passing off nonsense under the guise of depth doesn't make it good. The only difference, aside from aesthetics, between The Witness and a big book of maze puzzles is the latter doesn't take half a decade to make and cost 40 dollars.

Lots of super exciting build up with an unexpected (highly) disagreeable payoff. It was actually a perfect metaphor.

 

I mean, say a big book of maze puzzles is in anyway equivalent to the puzzles in the Witness is a complete exaggeration on your end and you know it.

I don't necessarily disagree with the assertion that it's overly pretentious as a game. But the gameplay is super solid, great puzzle design and seeing how they interact with the environment is wonderful

 

I figure I should spoiler tag this for Coop, 'cause I'm super considerate and etc:


What I mean by that, though, is the game has no depth beyond the puzzles, which is my gripe, because the game tried to sell itself as so much more than that. Obviously the puzzles are fantastic, and the environment is stunning, but the island has such an incredibly thick air of mystery and intrigue surrounding it and learning about it was the most exciting part of the game for me. But upon reaching the end and discovering, well, ultimately nothing 'cause it never actually went anywhere, I was soooooooooooooooo let down. It's exactly how I'd feel if I was about to cum super hard and then just weakly peed instead.

 

How the fuck do you beat this Judex guy? Every time I have him on the ropes he turns into a goddamn dinosaur!

 

One of the melee takedowns in Syndicate has you grabbing an enemy's hands and making the shoot themselves. I only recently noticed that you get a headshot bonus for doing that. This game is so cool.

 

I more or less agree.

I still have no idea what was going on on the Island or have any idea about the mysterious "story"

 

I managed to luck into finding another copy of Back To The Future for $7 at Walmart today. I also picked up Divinity Original Sin for $7.

I love clearance gaming.

The dude even gave me a tip on when the next batch of clearance games is coming out.
