Lol I think this show and Community are the most divided fanbases I've seen as far as how good episodes are

(Haven't watched last night's episode but...) I would agree. It seems like every time I think an episode is unfunny or just not good, I come in here and see people raving about how great it was. There's usually always a "Meh episode" comment followed by a "Top 5 episode of all time!"

Seriously. It never fails that multiple posters have the total opposite opinion when I feel strongly one way or another any given week.

Thought last night's was serviceable, but also a classic example of a later-season ep that I suspect was rushed/phoned in during writing. Concept was promising, and there were plenty of good lines, but there's just this feeling of cobbling together 22 minutes worth of disjointed scenes that I never got in the early seasons.

For me, they're at their best when there's an absurd premise that continues to build on itself with each minute, each scene out-insaning the last. Where the laughs come not only from the dialogue in the scene, but even moreso from how the unfolding situation relates to the episode's overarching conundrum (be it each member of the gang trying to bang someone else's mom for revenge or whatever). The dialogue itself is still usually good enough to save these less meticulously-written eps, though.

I guess the huge range of opinions every week probably goes to show that different fans laugh at the show for different reasons. Which is a compliment in itself, since it means they aren't a one-trick pony or anything.

  6. I thought last night's episode was pretty weak. I really didn't find myself laughing like I normally do.

  7. Also, I still think this and Seinfeld are the two greatest shows of all time.

this thread makes me think I'm the only person in the entire world who loves every episode and doesn't have to compare one episode to the other 130 episodes immediately after watching it

Agreed, the only episodes I can think of that I straight up don't like are Frank's Brother and Dee Made a Smut Film

That's where I'm at, too. I actually don't even dislike "Frank's Brother" that much. haha.

Some of these episodes within the last few seasons haven't made me laugh, but they still entertain me. It's impossible to rank 99% of them...I just know my few favorites and least favorites.

Same, a few stand out as weaker than most, but there's not a single episode I flat out don't like.

I'm assuming the total lack of posts in here means that most people agree with me that this was basically a waste of an episode?

An episode revolving around Cricket sounds great in theory but I feel like basically nothing was memorable from this

Yep, I just didn't want to be the first to say it.

This may end up being the weakest season to date for me, despite the one gem of HOHC?.

Season has been phenomenal, this episode wasn't the best but at least it had an amazing dog reveal. Stop ranking after every single episode!!!!

I've really liked this season overall but I feel like that episode might have to join Frank's Brother and Dee Made a Smut Film in the bottom three

I think the episode was still reasonably funny even though it really didn't stand out at all. I wouldn't compare it to Frank's Brother.

Not a top episode. Reminded me of the Dirty Randy/Rafi episodes of The League. Cricket is better in small doses and when WITH the gang. But it was okay. The dog reveal was good.
