MONTEBELLO ROCKFEST - JUNE 22-25, 2017

 

Surprised to see Craig's Brother and The Unseen on there.

 

Really strong undercard here: Converge, Ignite, Lucero, PUP, Basement, A Wilhelm Scream, the Living End, Frenzal Rhomb, Teenage Bottlerocket, Masked Intruder

But I think it's still a pass for me. But for anyone who hasn't seen some of these acts at a festival already (Alexisonfire, Thursday)... It'll probably be a fucking blast!

Crazy that there's 30 bands I'm legitimately excited for!

 

Gaddamn. Alexis, QOTSA, AFI, Converge, PUP, Norma Jean.... that is an absolutely stacked lineup. Kinda wanna make the trip up from Chicago haha

 

Is The Offspring no longer playing Ixnay? Usually it's listed on the admat.

 

Put 5 songs from each of my top 30 bands to start getting pumped!

 

They are, it's on the website still. Not sure why it's not on the poster.

 

Loaded lineup like usual. Awesome mixture of stuff too

 

Good Charlotte said they are playing on Saturday.

 

Whereas Riot Fest seems to be more punk/indie, this festival seems to be more metal/punk.

 

Yikes...

So from what I can tell, there are 123 bands playing the festival and the only bands with women in them are:
- LES COWBOYS FRINGANTS
- THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE
- LES ORDURES IONIQUES

Of these bands, there are only 3 women total. Assuming four members per band, there are 492 musicians playing, with the three women representing 0.61% of total musicians at the festival.

Awesome lineup like usual. It might not quite be on the same level as the last two, but still tons of great stuff.

 

Surprised to see 311 up there, have been waiting for a long time for them to come to Canada! Anyways, great lineup, would love to go to this..

 

Maybe I'm the only one but if anything, a super stacked lineup like last year sort of just stresses me out. It's nice to have a few gaps in the day to avoid being in the pit for like 12 hours straight

 

100% agree. Lamb of God into Ice Cube into Limp Bizkit into Bring Me The horizon into Rise Against was almost too much last year for my body to handle, it's nice to have a break

 

I think the same way. But that's why I got the VIP seating ticket. There's inevitably going to be bands I care a little less about that I won't mind sitting down and taking a break while watching their set.

 

Hopefully there's a lot of cross over with this and riot fest

 

A couple to add:

-Ensiferum's accordion player is female (I can't believe I just wrote that).
-One of Conflict's vocalists is female.
