Simple Plan is playing a festival in Canada on 8/12.

 

So is that Kill The Music site reliable? I know BS Warped lineups pop up on the internet every year. Wasn't sure if they've ever been right about this sort of thing in the past.

 

Considering they cut two stages in 2016, cutting 25 more bands (about 2 more stages worth) sounds really, really off.

 

That's what I thought too but when you look at how they used to do it, they used to just do five stages and that's it, with about 9 bands on each stage playing 30 minute sets. If they're going for a more retro thing or looking to save money/invest money in bigger acts, then that might be the way to go. I guess it just all depends on what they want to do.

 

Would the older bands demand more money than some of the bigger newer bands?

 

Kingdom of Giants just released a new song, and have an album dropping this spring. They need to gain some of their steam back after taking like a year off, so I could see them playing.

Everyone Dies In Utah and Dayseeker are two bands that could fit well with the warped crowd as well, though neither have new music coming out soon that I know of.

 

Going through random Warped videos on YouTube, and HOLY SHIT, this made me so happy.

 

September mourning is most likely out. Tour with combichrist would b cutting it close radius clause wise. Also, they have july dates with puddle of mud.

Dayseeker has been performing a new song on their tour with Silent Planet. So at the very least new music is in the works.

 

I'd actually be so down for CKY because I need to hear 96 Quite Bitter Beings live at least once in my life.

Beartooth is definitely on (Taylor confirms it), also via him everything on the KTM is true. Only 5 stages because they can't afford any more.

So, cut whether twenty-five bands off your guess lists now.

 

Anyone think He Is Legend would be on the tour this year? New album coming out this year, I could see them on the Monster Stage.

That's what I'm guessing. I'd assume one of the stages might be sponsored by Full Sail though (they seem to enjoy blowing people's tuition money on Warped, guess that's what happen when you're a for-profit)

 

This seems likely. Especially since Kevin said they're having an old school stage. So all the old school bands on the main stage. The two Monster stages make sense seeing as how popular the metalcore/hardcore scene is at warped. And the Journeys would be the less heavy bands. I think this makes a lot of sense.

 

Yah this makes the most sense. I wonder how this will affect ticket sales this year

I hope it's a $20 ticket with a small "convenience" charge. I hope it's also $30 or $35 the day of.

It would definitely be within the radius clause, but bands have played the tour before even though they played shows within the clause. So you never know.

 

Where does Taylor confirm it?

 

Nothing will top last year but if all the throwback punk band stuff is true this could end up being one of my favorite years as well.
