You don't really need to play the first, it references it a couple of times but nothing that will ruin the experience of WD2.

There's a main character from the first game and so, there are references to the first game. And a side mission directly related to the first game. It's up to you, though I'd just start the second.

    Fun must be always. Prestigious

the one weekend I'm out of town is of course the free weekend for NBA2K17.

I could have used this weekend to scratch my itch for a good basketball game.

I just beat Resident Evil 7. It's definitely the most fun I've had with a RE game since RE4 on my Gamecube. The first few hours were truly frightening as I felt like the main character was weak and vulnerable. You eventually acquire more weapons and the monsters become less of a threat. The scary parts are less about the monsters and more from the atmosphere. It took 8 hours to complete on normal and I'm not sure when or if I'll play it again, but fully enjoyed it.

    Skyrim was most definitely repetitive.

Okay, I need to confess something - I literally can't tell the difference between whether a game is 30fps or 60fps, and it doesn't impact me one way or another if it is.

Like, framerate dips do hurt games, of course. Unity was almost unplayable when I bought it because of that. But as long as a game is stable, I just don't care.

Is that odd? Reddit has me believe that that's a rare opinion to have... Anyone else the same?

You definitely can if you play one version and then another one right away. Also, some games are just better with 60fps: racing games, certain shooters, mechanically demanding and fast games (like a lot of shoot em ups and so on). But yes, in a lot of cases 60fps are unnecessary.

Yeah I know that The Last Of Us on ps4 has an option to switch between the two, really need to try it out.

I'm inclined to agree but I don't think I've played any physically demanding games or any where this kinda thing truly matters

I very simple example is Mario Kart 8. If you play it with more than two people locally, the frame rate goes from 60ish to 30ish and it'll feel markedly different if you are used to playing alone.

Yeah, just switch between the two and it's easy to notice the difference between 30fps/60fps. Another game that gives you the option is Rise of the Tomb Raider. Can't think of any others off the top of my head.

So dumb that you can't use IR players in quick play. I get it for online of course, but come on

Reminds me actually, anyone else have performance issues with Watch Dogs 2? Playing it on the PS4, framerate suffers pretty noticeable dips when driving at high speed.

Numerous bugs too. Been doing the taxi side missions, and had its crash on me twice in separate ones. Once the passenger didn't get in and I was stuck, unable to move. Now a passenger wasn't at the pick up point, the marker has gone from the map, but it's telling me to pick them up still. Can't cancel the mission. Really annoying have to lose progress and reboot the game to sort it.

That's just the general frame performance. 30 most of the time, tanks in cars.
