I really wanted to keep the two female characters we got in the party to stay in the party. They were great.

Definitely. The game gets so many of the difficult things right yet fumbles on the easy stuff. Luna is a character I was genuinely interested in. the sequence after her death is pretty incredible though

All the information checks out too. There are some fish that seem to be inexplicably harder to catch than their stamina rating though. The Mighty Baramundi at the Vesperpool Cape is an example. Tough to catch, actually fights harder as it progresses.

Gentiana and Aranea were such cool characters. I wanted more of them throughout the game.

Iris also had the coolest limit break in the game.

That seems crazy to me. XIII is a terrible game. It's not even a JRPG in my opinion. Just a pretty action game with the most convoluted idiotic story I've ever seen.

The minigames in FFXV are better than anything in FFXIII lol.

I didn't like the story of XIII, but there were definitely things I loved.

    - Fang and Vanille's relationship and their ending.
    - Mother fucking Sazh.
    - The entire (yet limited) open world section.
    - The battle system is very original and fun once you get passed the learning curve.
    - The summons all looked great and felt a lot more useful than XII.
    - Revisiting my favorite FF world

    etc etc

I think XIII is a decent but flawed game which is what I'd say about XV. I didn't feel like XV was that JRPGish either honestly and I don't think XV did much better from a story perspective, especially when you look at how poorly it was executed.

I like the battle system in XIII a lot more than XV and I hate the use of summons in XV. I wasn't a huge fan of them turning into vehicles in XIII but I still liked their usage a lot more.

XV was literally just me jamming the square button for 60 hours.

The open world was a total waste. There was nothing to do! haha

The battle system was okay. I enjoyed it for the most part. It's probably the only positive thing I can really come up with gameplay wise. The summons were goofy... I did not like the whole transformers vehicular thing at all.

Did you do the hunts? Get to the second and third areas? Because I probably dropped 30-50 hours into it.

I'm still not a huge fan of the battle system. And you're right, it's far too reliant on button mashing. But the warp striking aspect does keep it fun. Someone said that way back in this thread. I also like royal arms ability.

And I'm one of the few who likes the way the summons work. It could be better, but I like how epic they are. Makes them seem grand again.

While not my favorite, XIII gets a lot of hate, even though it's still a good game and very enjoyable. I like XIII-2 more, and I still haven't played Lightning Returns because of the time limit stuff

Yes I did. I put quite a few hours into it as well. I remember it being quite the slog. I wanted to like the game so badly because it was probably one of the biggest build ups for a game ever for me.

I'm more disappointed in XV than I was with XIII, I was always a lot more excited for Versus XIII and after 10 years I was so excited and I expected so much and it just didn't deliver in any aspect for me.

    I loved Aranea.

Also the whole trilogy of xiii are some of my favorite games esp Lightning Returns.. There's dozens of easy side quests so the time limit thing isn't anywhere as bad as people have made it out to be

    But w/e lol

I get easily stressed when I have time limits in games haha
I've heard that it's not as strict on the time limits, so I'm definitely going to pick it up soon and give it a try. The XIII-2 cliffhanger had me hooked

I gave up on XIII-2 just because I had so many other games I wanted to play more. My girlfriend loves that game though.

XIII-2 felt so incredibly short and daunting at the same time.

Pretty sure it was the first game I ever plat'd.

I didn't bother with the other two games. Wasn't worth it for me.

Does anyone know if there are special items you can get with the holiday moogle-festival DLC?

The only one's I know about are the rod and reel which I heard weren't worth a damn and then the dream egg you get when you stay in the hotel after the fireworks show. Don't know what it does or what it's for tho..

Anyone seen the new trailer for the upcoming DLC, looks awesome. Especially the Gladio stuff.

So i'm playing FF IV on my Iphone and am realizing there's a glitch where in random battles, usually boss battles I think, random characters HP gets jacked wayyyyyyyy up. Way up there. Anyone else had experience with this?

Back in Middle School and High School I was really into video games and RPGs but I lost interest. I got FFXV for Christmas and I absolutely loved it, the characters and the world were enough to keep me interested and I'm going through all the post game stuff for the first time in any game because I enjoy being in the world so much. I'm not as big of a fan of turn based combat (especially the random encounters in the old ones) so the battle system was a welcome change for me.

It has also sparked my interest back up in Final Fantasy. I beat FF7 and FF8 when they first came out but after that never finished another again (despite starting 5, 6, 9, 10, and 12) now I'm playing 9 on my iPad and got X and X-2 and Type 0 for PS4.

I just wanted to share that despite it's story telling flaws I really loved FFXV.
