Josie or Dammit on Recovery live Australian tv show Saturday morns. I think the footage is still on YouTube
Quite liked both songs and had them on Triple J compilations but then didn't buy an album til WMAA dropped and was 13 and had some birthday money. Then my bud got dude ranch and we did a dodgy burn our album each for each other and swapped

same logic applies to the fact that EVERY SINGLE LINE OF EVERY SINGLE SONG on california is DIRECTLY AND ANGRILY about Tom.

seriously, the only things that it's not shallow/hollow to say are about tom are the chorus for Los Angeles and all of san diego

....I don't see the Los Angeles chorus. Hell I'd say Cynical is much more a likely bet, I am pretty sure we all agreed or it was established Cynical is about Mark moving on from Tom and carrying on the band without him.
Agreed on San Diego and that some people reach too far (I saw someone suggest No Future was about Tom....no but no)

Cynical is about Mark not being confident he could write another good song again and Skiba about waiting for a phone call he knows will be bad. They both confirmed it in a video. Although I could absolutely see your side of how it could be about Mark moving on too.

San Diego is definitely about Tom. Mark, Skiba and Feldmann all confirmed it.

I agree with that, above is still the best time I ever saw them. Although in fairness to them and after me saying I haven't enjoyed anything from them since the reunion, Brixton Academy 2013 was an incredible show, it was that night I accepted I wasn't going to go and see them again. It was as good as they were ever going to get after the reunion. I think they'd been on a three month tour of Europe by this point and they were tight as you like, in a great venue and they played Dick Lips. Perfect.

  11. I saw them in July 2012 with Arkells and Anti Flag and they were good. Even Tom was doing well performance wise. Wouldn't mind going to one of their future shows now that they're rejuvenated thanks to Matt.

Probably won't see this movie for another five years. I bet he hasn't even began working on it.

Well it says the script is written, and the Hollywood Reporter is reputable enough for filmmaking news.

Pumped for Tom, Strange Times is something he's been wanting to get off the ground for ages. Hope it does well.

Also, new AVA music with it should be sweet.

I can actually give them a pass for not really switching things up for the California tour between Matt still learning the songs, trying to bring in new fans by playing their hits etc. I'm glad they recognize needing to change things up though.

Yeah, glad to hear they are switching up the setlist.. one of the reasons I wasn't excited about the California tour is that I knew I'd be seeing the same setlist I had been since 2009.. I wish and hope blink regains confidence that they once had and seem to lack nowadays.. they always seem to pander rather than lead. Alkaline Trio did it right with their recent setlists, saves the day have gone off too and played a bunch of oldies and rarities.. also, the thing about blink, is that unlike a lot of bands whose singles are their best songs, it's the opposite for blink. They have so many great deep cuts and I feel like they're wasting time and missing opportunities to play these while they still can.

I can see that complaint with them post-reunion, but the first big tour with Matt is a little different I think. I gave them a break for playing mostly predictable songs last summer. I might go see them again when I get a chance, but if they're playing more deep cuts the next time around, I would definitely go.

Yeah plus when he first joined blink he had to stop to prepare for those full Trio discography shows, so I didn't expect Matt to get a ton of blink down at first. Record wise and tour wise, blink is just gonna get better the longer Matt is there.

It bothered me that when they would add new deep cuts on the California tour, it was always a Tom song (Dsyentary Gary, Reckless Abandon, Wishing Well). I know I'm in the minority here but I'd prefer if they limited the amount of Tom-only songs they play
