Matt and Travis' recent enthusiasm makes me very happy. I can't see any way I dislike this record.

can someone just mashup Mark's untitled songs with a couple Crimson songs while we wait? Pretty please?

I'm kind of expecting the bulk of this to sound more TOYPAJ/Infirmary than Untitled/Crimson.

same to be honest. but my ideal combo would be Crimson/Untitled. Love the way those two styles blend

I think it'll be more like Sekrets/Mark's songs on Neighborhoods and DED.

Neighborhoods was not my style for the most part, but I did really enjoy the Dogs Eating Dogs EP. Each track had a distinct vibe and while I hope the new album carries some of that over, I also hope they do a better job blending everything to make a more cohesive effort.

  18. There's something to be said about that initial excitement that probably took over all of us, given that we had waited 8 years for new Blink. It was almost surreal to get it in the first place. I remember the first time I listened, I thought it was really good too. I was just ecstatic that it even existed in the first place. But then the dust settles, a year or two goes by, and you realize that maybe it was mediocre after all.

that's absolutely what it was. blinded by the light kind of deal. it felt like a fake album in that i never thought i'd hear new songs by that band. i was also 20 years old when that came out though and i don't think i'd have that reaction again if there were a similar situation today.

    I am a haunted house. I'm superstitious.

There's some footage I missed from the studio. Has anyone seen this already? Skiba is playing a riff that reminds me a lot of M+M's or some early blink song (and it's a not good riff).

Not as bad as me, I'm pretty sure I declared it the GOAT at one point. I haven't listened to any of it in at least 3 years.

The day up all night first played on the radio will always be a favourite music moment though.

Neighborhoods is my second fave blink album, still. Great songs, just feels unfocused and bloated.

Neighborhoods still is my second favorite blink album (also my second favorite of all time). I really don't feel any different about it now in comparison to what I felt back in 2011.

Yes, it suffers from lack of direction/not enough cohesiveness and the guitars could use some more punch, but I think most of the songs themselves are stellar. blink really upped their game with the self-titled and that still shows. Sure, some lyrics are bad, but overall they showcased growth.

Even not at their peak, I much prefer the metaphorical/poetically driven lyricism and the diversified sound over their standard pop punk roots. And don't get me wrong, I love the EOTS and TOYPAJ days as well.
