HHH admitting publicly that he is disappointed in the NXT product is so refreshing.

 

Watching the 2001 rumble this morning, god this intercontinental ladder match with Jericho and Benoit is so good and brutal.

 

Definitely a good thing that he cares so much, it's currently not as good as it's been but definitely still fine. Lot of talent acquired recently so gotta let them be built up. Maybe he means the younger homegrown talent that wasn't already a name somewhere else?

 

The quality has dipped A LOT over the last year. I went from watching it every week to catching it every now and again to not giving a shit if I see it or not. I can basically watch the Takeovers and be covered. I think if they did more live episodes, it could help the product.

 

Weekly shows were never that great to be honest. Gotta realize that that Takeovers are way more frequent than they ever were, so I can't blame them for not giving a lot away on the weeklys.

Having more live episodes would make me tune into weekly NXT more often for sure, it doesn't help that I'm weak when it comes to looking at taping results for the show and that WWE social media has a habit of immediately spoiling huge things that happen in tapings (like big name indie debuts or when Nakamura got the belt back).

i dont think nxt going live would solve any of its issues. stuff would get spoiled all the time during its hottest phase and it would still get people to tune in and watch simply because it was good. today's nxt just has a bunch of "the hottest free agents on the market!" and a somewhat more developed character here and there. the takeovers will always be good, but thats only because they hire great talent, not because they're building good stories.

 

Character development is severely lacking. They bring all these people in as the "indie star" and that's their gimmick. Roddy is hurt by this.

I hope Cien starts to get over now that he's finally heel.

 

AJ had this problem early on too. After the Rumble, he did jack shit through WM because he had no character beyond "what a match AJ and ____ will be for the first time!"

Wasnt til he faced Reigns and the Club got involved that he developed a character.

 

I feel like the schedule since the last Takeover has been really weird and out of order? They had a special showing of the Nakamura/Joe cage match...and then like 2 weeks later showed the entire show it was from including that same match.

 

Roddy is hurt by being awful on the mic.

 

He's decent as a heel. Him being the bland face version of himself helps no one

 

Taker is now the favorite on most betting sites it looks like.
