    Harumph

The Hanging Tree is a great protest song.

The Humpty Dance was a jam.

So I'm going to go the most unpopular this thread has ever seen: The Nickelback feat Kid Rock cover of Elton John's Saturday Nights Alright for Fighting is great and better than the original.

    No Fun. Not Ever.

The words "Kid Rock" and "better" should never be in the same sentence.

Not that there isn't a ton of great stuff after 1988......but before was better :-D

not tru. '88 is when I was born and all music created thereafter was crafted merely to please my ears and the ears of no one else. I must say that the world has failed miserably in the past 28ish years doing so

Almost every single Pink Floyd album was released before 88'. Invalid argument.

Nah I've defended myself before over my mild interest in Mumford and Sons. I'm more going because my fiancé likes them and I like to drink beers in parking lots, but I also don't mind them. Their last album was actually pretty good.

You get my approval for liking to drink beer in parking lots.

But that means you are discounting the first 3 Metallica's, Boston's self titled, Areosmith's Toys in the Attic and Rocks, Kansas's Leftoverture and Point of Know Return and 3 of Def Leppard's best albums.

Here's an unpopular one that my friends hate: I think PF are super overrated and boring and are my least favorite out of all the classic rock genre, even if they have some good songs like Have A Cigar, Time and Machine.

See, I get that. I can understand why people can find them boring. I had a bunch of friends in college who really introduced me more to prog, so I think that gave me a different view of them.

I would've seen M&S when Sigh No More first came out, now probably not.

Wilder Minds is their best album by far! Not that I listen to any of them, I just listened to that one more than once

Never heard of Metallica, Def Leppard, Boston and Aerosmith? Not only do I not believe you but how are you alive?

First album is pretty decent, albeit not enough good songs to sustain my attention all the way through, but there's probably a good EP in there. Second was basically a shot-for-shot remake of the first, so not worth my time at all.

I think the third is kinda cool and it's a pretty bold move to change up their style, however when I got past that, it's all a bit Snow Patrol-y and bland. Believe ( I think thats what its called) is great though.

I think Marcus Mumford is a pretty talented songwriter, and he did some great stuff on that basement tapes cover album too.
