Kind of my thoughts on that track. I'm coming around on it more, but I just think it goes on for too long. Probably my least favorite track lyrically, too.

Anyone grab the 7' that came with a coupon for the LP? Pretty good idea - I think The Menzingers also have something similar going on.

    this wasn't on polyvinyl though

and if you ordered the polyvinyl variant they still have to wait to receive it from anti first

Finally have the time to listen to this. Hitting play now

Edit: Okay wow, I really enjoyed that. Especially North East South West and In A Body Like A Grave. I also didn't care much for No Known Drink Or Drug the first time I heard it, but I like it a lot better in context with the album

That P4K review might be the worst one I've read on that website. And I've always been a P4K defender.

    I really like this record.

Woof, that Pitchfork review. Lazy, surface level criticism.

Eh, I agree with some of the criticism re: the lyrics. I still need to sit down and read along with it. I like the album more than the review gives it credit for, but I don't find it as interesting or immediately gripping as their best work. No song on here is really close to the love I have for "Young Hearts" or "House". I'm sure I'll be playing it a lot when it gets nicer and I can play it in my car.

had to save some of the BNM they're taking away from japandroids and cloud nothings for julie byrne and priests

can't give too much acclaim in the same week plus you gotta work with the new hype rather than these older bands ya kno

Idk I personally like the lyrics. I feel like they're more varied here.

I mean, I'm not concerned about how well or poorly received it was. I thought the review was badly written, poorly reasoned, and lazy. It didn't feel like he made any attempt to engage with the content of the record. Instead, he settled for making head-scratching comparisons to Foo Fighters and The Black Keys, complaining about the production, and cherry-picking "bad" lyrics without bothering to explore their context.
