Just picked this up on vinyl and saw there wasn't a thread for it, so I made one. I know it's a divisive album among fans. I really like it, although it is my first dive into Animal Collective. I am literally listening to Merriweather Post Pavilion for the first time right now, haha.

 

I liked it a lot for like a week. It's better than Centipede but no where near MPP or Strawberry Jam or even Fall Be Kind (I don't really fuck with the earlier stuff enough to comment). Golden Gal is the standout.

I really need to see them live but idk when I'll ever get the chance. They played Western Canada this summer but no sign of Toronto.

 

I dig this albu, but I think I agree with @brandon_260, better than Centipede, but it's no MPP. I don't really like anything before Strawberry either!

I did see them live a few years ago at Coachella and thought it was absolutely horrible though, haha

 

This one was weird for me because I really like about half of the songs and half of them did nothing for me.

 

Sung Tongs is sooooo goooood

 

I love "Golden Gal" but I rarely listen to anything else off this.

 

Feels is one of my fave AnCo albums. i kind of forgot about this one tbh

it is maddening how AnCo produces some of my absolute fav music and also some random stuff I just don't care for... and it's also so random

like, this record is amazing, next one is meh, following horrible, and then a MASTERPIECE

like... they deserve props only for that Jesus - so wild

 

oh, and the new one is possibly their (second/third) worst (depending my (bad) mood)

 

I think I'd take Animal Collective's worst album over any of the members' solo work though.

 

Deakin album is so sick though.

let me guess, you hate the album avey tare did with his (now ex)wife? you think its pretentious and annoying they reversed it on the last fucking minute so you are listening to an album in reverse? boo fucking hoo - yr loss you probably haven't even heard (of) it

and yes, that Deakin album is so sick tho

Person Pitch is really cool, I didn't really care for the one after it with the white-ish cover as much

 

that's my fav actually - give it another shot

it has a very unique vibe, I think

 

Person Pitch is awesome. So is Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper

 

I could never really get into Meets for some reason
