  1. Dive into both of them!

    Start with:
New Ams - Worse for the Wear
    Owen - At Home With

I remember way back in like 2002 or so listening to The New Amsterdams, I think I actually bought that album you're speaking of.

Something about the vocals in Owen just aren't to my liking, and I think that's the main reason why I haven't dived in.

Do you remember The Lyndsay Diaries or Superstitions of the Sky?

  3. I definitely remember Lyndsay Diaries. The vocals are so grating to me now, but I used to love TLD in high school. I loved anything Dashboard Confessional-esque (aka acoustic and sad). I was also super into the singer of The Academy Is' old high school solo project, Remember Maine.

Yea I went back and listened to TLD and my taste has certainly changed, haha. I still dig the sad acoustic stuff but more along the lines of The Spill Canvas and Wind in Sails.

I used to like The Academy Is but never heard of his solo project, thanks.

I've been trying to find new music that takes me back to around that time, but can't. Maybe that fad just went away. I'm not ready to accept the grown up singer-songwriter stuff, damnit!

Well a couple came to mind that may fit your criteria (emo-ish):

Speak Low If You Speak Love (side project from State Champs)
    Alcoa (side project from Defeater)

Also a couple acoustic guys I think you should definitely listen to:
    Noah Gunderson
    David Ramirez

Where do I start with hot rod circuit?

I have "misled" on my iTunes and I love it. But it's the only song I have.

Sorry About Tomorrow is what it's called. It's the only album I've really listened to from them. I think my taste in music changed around that time period, never liked them afterward.

Anyone remember Beloved? Well Josh Moore (clean vocalist) is in country now. But it's good country, not poppy at all.
