Haven't been listening to music much lately...threw on IAAN earlier, still a fucking jam.

I am a Nightmare and Mene are nice songs, that have no place on a high quality brand new album. I listened to them 3-5 times with no want to go back. I still go back and listen to a lot of their stuff. I hope they go back, I hope they're grandiose, and I hope the lyrics are intricate, deep and that it comes out when it's ready.

 

Hey Jude was a single that never actually appeared on a Beatles album. Eventually a comp, but that doesn't count. It was the first single released and marketed through their own imprint Apple Records, which also became an outlet for their contemporaries like Badfinger and Billy Preston. Looks pretty similar to me with these two songs and Procrastinate. Mene and Nightmare might as well be treated as singles at this point in time.

Disagree on Mene. Would be a great opener or second track. Lyrically, it's phenomenal. The same cannot be said for IAAN and Sealed to Me, so I'm hoping those don't make the cut if we ever do get another album.

 

Sealed To Me is cool

 

At this point, I'd be pretty surprised if Mene and/or IAAN were included on LP5. I mean, Mene was released nearly two years ago (April of 15, if I recall) and I thought Jesse said it had actually been around since the TDAG days. Sealed to Me may actually make it on an album just because it was never officially released, but personally I hope LP5 is all new tracks we haven't heard before.

 

The only reason I don't want to see them on the album is because that means there will be more new music included in their places. I would love to hear a studio version of Sealed To Me

 

personally thought Mene was a great song to signal the end.

 

Yeah Mene was perfect. Such an intense and loud beginning of the end. I Am a Nightmare falls short of Mene on every level.

 

Don't get me wrong, I really like Mene. I think it's a great song. I just think it'd be cheap to put it on an album at this point considering it was released in 2015 and I've listened to it 1000 times already, I'd rather have something new on the album in its place.

 

it doesn't necessarily mean we'll get more new songs if Mene/Sealed/Nightmare aren't on the album...

 

I wouldn't want a song I've been listening to for almost two years on a new album unless it was recorded/rewritten. And even then.

 

If they release a 10 song album with those songs that's 7 new songs. If we get a 10 song album without them that's 10 new songs. I consider that more

 

i think it will be a 7 song EP
