Disk Inventory X

Install and run this utility, Disk Inventory X. It's super useful for seeing what's taking up space on your HD.

 

both are formatted for mac. the new/second HD works with the new laptop, but it did come with some seagate backup dashboard and im wondering if not having that software on the old laptop is preventing it from recognizing it?

i think i saw this come up a couple times, i'll give it a shot in the next day or so.

If this data is accurate, looks like the AirPods are doing pretty well for themselves, as expected for a launch. Suppose the big thing will be to see how they continue to do in sales as we move through the year.

 

I just turned my living room lights(4 Hue bulbs) on with my Apple Watch. Badass.

 

ALSO: This Nike Run Club app for the watch can be trash sometimes(most of the time?). I ran about 2 hours ago without my phone since I have the Series 2 and it synced back to the Run Club app on the phone but didn't show the GPS mapping. It showed the mapping on my watch when I was done, but it didn't send it to the phone. Also it shows on the watch app that I haven't ran at all this month and I've done 2 runs. It was advertised as this heaven sent thing for runners, but it is lacking big time.

 

Got an Apple Watch Series 1 a couple weeks ago. Absolutely love it!

 

That's the one I'm looking into getting. I want one but I'm still trying to decide if I'll use it lol

 

AirPods are really, really cool.

 

When they announced the AirPods, I was completely against them (mainly because of the design) and said I'd never get any. Well I caved, and I'm glad I did. They are very cool.

 

Where are you guys getting them? Did you purchase them and waited the two weeks or so to ship or have you gotten lucky and found them in stores?

 

I ordered online and waited.

 

So my old PC i connected my iphone to for music died. My current computer's itunes doesn't see the iphone. :(

Edit: got it. had to mess with the drivers. Sigh.

 

I'm flabbergasted by all the hate their design has gotten; we've been looking at essentially the same earphones for years. Short of adding a fake cord, their appearance couldn't have been an easier mental adjustment for me.
Meanwhile, yesterday I saw a phone so large that a girl making a call looked like she was napping on a pillow. Now that looks silly.

 

It's just not what we are used to seeing, so it's a shock. As the time passes, and the world looks back on old tech, we will probably laugh at how dorky long cables hanging from our ears looked.

 

I would love a pair of black AirPods.

 

I thought of this too but realized it will probably never happen for the same reason that the regular earbuds have only been white for years now.

 

Really want the AirPods for the simple feature of when you take them out of your ear whatever you were playing stops automatically. Because I'd mostly use them at work to listen to podcasts so being able to just have one in to do that and if someone speaks to me I can just take it out and everything stops, that's awesome.

 

agreed. I also imagine they would get lost very easily.

 

This is the best feature, and from my short experience so far, it works correctly every time.

Finally got my 2015 MBP, first time owning a Mac.

interesting development, but doesn't appear to help those who don't use safari?

 

I'm not sure what CR is claiming, but I know that apple worked with them and found that there was a bug with Safari when in developer mode (which is a bit absurd considering the average consumer probably doesn't even knows that exists, let alone needs it. So not sure why CR thought they needed to test with it on). Apple fixed the bug, CR retested, and voila, all is well.

Also, Chrome is garbage and will murder your memory/battery so you shouldn't be using that anyways

 

but does that bug affect battery life is safari isn't even open? my battery isn't hitting 10 hours regardless of what im doing or what's open
