I've decided that, instead of constantly being sad about the state of pizza affairs in New Haven, I will acquire all the hardware and ingredients to make my own Chicago style pizza.

 

Beaver's Pizza has a nice ring to it

 

just remembered I have a Popeyes biscuit in the fridge (which I got for free) and my day is instantly improved

 

I'll freeze them and ship them to you guys with my Beaver logo.

Paula Deen's place is nothing special and she and her sons were there and treated the employees like shit right in front of us and she was mean to us when we called her out. We never went back. When her racism came out we were like yep, totally saw her doing that.

I know you want traditional southern food but are you wanting to dine on River Street which has a view of the river or like Broughton where the more hip places are? How much are you wanting to spend? City Market has cheapish burgers and sports bars.

Savannah is my favorite place in America.

 

I am open to all suggestions! River Street would be good or Broughton. I'm more interested in spectacular food than a spectacular view. But I like hip. I have some money to spend. Give me some options! I basically don't want to dine in a chain or have food that I can get other places easily. Something unique to Savannah.

Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room on Jones St. is one of my favorites but some people don't like the fact that it's communal dining. Best fried chicken I've ever had. It's also only for lunch and there is always a line but it's worth it.

Alligator Soul on Broughton has a bunch of different and weird meats. Camel meat threw me off I thought they were joking but they were not.

The Funky Brunch is breakfast stuff and there's a griddle on the table to make your own pancakes and stuff and we always had a blast doing that.

For drinking, Chive Sea Lounge and Bar. Their drinks are amazing and totally unique.

Narobia's Grits and Gravy is open for breakfast and lunch and best grits in the world.

Wall's Bar B Que is great BBQ.

Moon River Brewery has tons of beer and it's haunted.

River Street Sweets makes all their desserts/candy and you can watch them making it. I recommend the mint chocolate fudge.

I just threw in a bunch that aren't necessarily in downtown.

But seriously if you walk around you can find anything.

River St. Market Place has trinkets and is outside by the river.

The history is my fave part and there are tons of tours you can take. Ghost tours, Booze Cruises. You can carry open containers.

Wet Willies is good if you want to do karaoke and drink slushy drinks.

Everyone talks about The Pink House (The Olde Pink House is it's full name I think?) but to me it's overrated but seafood and steak is their main food and you have to make reservations and dress decently.

Huey's, Tubby's, Bernie's are mediocre.

Parking is a BITCH. If you go during the weekdays there is a parking area right on the river but we usually park in one of the parking decks a few streets over. There's parallel parking on Bay St. which is always packed. All of the squares look similar so remember where you park/the street so you can GPS it. I've been to Savannah a million times and sometimes can't find our car lol

Abercorn is a street that is straight except there are squares that you drive around on every street and there are monuments about the history. There is a beautiful cathedral but I'm interested in cathedrals so it's prob just me.

If you need help ask anyone. We're friendly over here especially downtown.

Be careful to not walk too far north though bc the crime rate is really high and my friend got mugged once.
