I think it's more in my perception of the album than the album in itself but I don't really care for Jesse's writing on Deja lyrically. While stuff like Play Crack The Sky, Me vs Maradonna vs Elvis and Sic Transit are fantastically written, I feel like a lot of the lyrics come across to me as kinda adolescent. I don't think any of it comes close to TDAG.

 

I mean, judging from some of the lyrics on Tommy Gun and The Boy alone, I definitely don't disagree haha

alright, didn't want to give in last year but with no news whatsoever, I think I might be agreeing with everyone saying they won't release another LP.

 

Yeah, but when you hear the complete lyric in context, it makes sense and is actually one of my favorites on the album:

I still think it's pretty bad. Although I don't think jesse is overall a tremendously good writer, so I guess I think it's fairly in his wheelhouse

That night he also shared a story about how he was wasted once and hid his keys in a box of tissues on top of a toilet in the bathroom at a party he was at. Now we're blessed with 'Last Chance To Lose Your Keys'

I honestly can't think of a single person I would say I enjoy the writing of more than Jesse. Probably why they're my favourite band though.

 

Every time sapone posts a pic on Instagram I get too excited, even though he usually doesn't specify who he's in the studio with. Hopefully the photo today means they are back in the lab

 

I saw that it said hashtag black lines. Might be a throwback picture referencing Mayday Parade. Though it says Zappa on one of the faders. I love that he refers to him all the time. We can hope it's for Brand New or maybe more Shone

 

Maybe I'm stupid, but I do believe we'll get a LP5 this year, but I'm guessing it'll be late summer or fall and I say that because, they're probably going to want to tour around the album and I don't see them announcing another tour for at least another 5-6 months considering they did two US tours and an overseas tour in 2016.

 

I'm almost finished reading Seinfeldia and I would love something about Brand New, written in a similar fashion.

That album is going to be insanely good though everyone here should listen to joy, departed too

 

I listened to Joy, Departed nonstop when it came out and it has basically completely fallen off for me. I need to re-listen soon though because I listened to Forgettable the other day and enjoyed that still, and Joy Departed is an obvious leap forward from that so

 

I'm all about Animal Flag atm

 

That record just seems to disappoint me every time I listen. Which sucks, because I'd pay money any time to see them live.

 

BEST boston band rn. Everyone here should see them live. I saw BN twice last year and seeing animal flag play the crunch house in CT topped both of those.

 

The title of the new Sorority Noise album minus one word

 

I really hope to get the chance eventually. I've only heard great great things about them live. Bought the compilation from last year on vinyl last night. Loving all of their stuff. Also looking forward to dig into Bad Dreams his solo electronic side project. Dude is so prolific and talented. Seems like a really nice guy too.

 

Bad Dreams is so good too. Such down to earth guys too.
