perhaps it will be a different crowd tomorrow night but i have only been there on weekends, and it is about fifty times worse than brothers.

  3. I say don't live in Bloomington. Try south Minneapolis (anything around Lake Nokomis), Southwest Minneapolis, Uptown, Edina, or SLP

Sweet deal. I know Bloomington and Richfield are a bit dodgy. The only reason I'd live in Bloomington would be the commute, but I'm okay with driving a bit.

  5. I guess for me it's not even that they're dodgy, they just don't have the amenities that you'd be able to have two miles down the road if you lived in the other neighborhoods. They're just blah.

Yeah tbh it really depends on what you are looking for price range wise, if you want to be around the young professionals and be centrally located to nightlife but some of the cooler local spots, uptown is great, except its more expensive as the rental demand is higher. I really enjoy living in south Minneapolis (55th and France), as the rent wasn't nearly as expensive and it still had things to do around also while being able to drive fairly quickly to other parts of the metro.

I'd loooove to live in the 56th/France area, but it's hella pricy. I'm hoping to stay under $1k/mo. I spent last night checking out Zillow, so I have several places to look into once I actually move. I feel like it's going to be a process, though.

That's also true. But I always hear that the Richfield Walmart is where you go to get shot, so... ? I've been there a few times with no issue. Idk. *shrug*

  9. Haha..uh..meh, I don't consider Richfield unsafe at all. I also never go to Walmart though. I go to the Home Depot and Target in richfield all the time though. Those are actually pretty nice.

What are y'all doing for New Years? I will probably just head to a dive bar and chill. Doing anything else sounds too exhausting

White Bear Lake has been...good for me professionally, but it SO far away from the city when you don't have a car. Pretty excited to hopefully move into either Minneapolis or St P in June, and hopefully start managing my own store. More money for shows! Haha.

I am stoked for The xx at the Palace Theatre in April. Hopefully the tickets aren't crazy expensive.

yo @Danny my band would love to play a show with you, we should talk.

  18. @Cody Hell yeah dude, that would be awesome. What's your band's name/what kind of music do you play? I'd love to check it out! Message me/I'll message you and we'll set something up.

@everyone I think we did this once before, but if you're in a band/do stand up/make art/want to share anything you're involved in you should tell us about it! I'd love to check out some of your stuff.

Also, anyone going to Sims tonight/Anti-Flag & Direct Hit on Sunday?

The only concert I'm really looking forward to is the Japanese house at the t rock in February. Winter generally makes me want to hibernate unless it is a REAL good concert that I feel obligated from driving out in the burbs into the city for, haha.

  22. My New Years resolution is to go to at least one show a week, so I'm forcing myself to brave the cold for some shows ha. I'm also not trying to spend a bunch of money on each show so I'm gonna try to go to most of them at the Triple Rock/Turf Club (I live near there so even if it's a bit pricier the convenience factors in)/7th St or some of the other smaller venues.

I have every week lined up until March, but I'll probably be asking about some cooler small shows around then to fill my schedule out.
