It is really good. It is pretty much a linear GTA. The characters are very well written and the soundtrack is pretty amazing and on par with L.A.Noir. Highly recommended. On a side note, I do not believe there is any correlation between II and III. I could be wrong.

There is a connection: Vito Scaletta is in the game.

Well there you go. There was something similar with the second one with a nod to the first one by having a cameo of the protagonist.

Awesome! I was reading up a bit on the newest one coming out, and I'm definitely interested. Looks like you're going to have the freedom of choice in regards to play styles.

Apparently the PC port of QB is a mess.

Yeah, I think that was the biggest complaint of the second one. That is was built like a sandbox style game but very linear. Looking forward to what they have done in the new one.

That was the preorder incentive a couple of months ago. That basically if you preorder the game, it would come with a free copy of Alan Wake both BC and on the PC. The digital preorder also came with a free copy of Alan Wake's American Nightmare. I think every copy of QB comes with a free copy of Alan Wake now though.

I think the New Orleans open world setting could be really awesome also.

Any retro gamers here? I am a huge Commodore 64 fan, and hopefully getting mine fixed soon.

I think the furthest back I collect is SNES but my favorite system of all time is easily GBA. I have a GBA Micro, GBA Japanese Famicom Edition SP, Fat GBA and a lot of great games for it. Still on the hunt for many more though. Some of my faves are Harvest Moon: FOMT, Pokemon Leaf Green, FFVI, Castlevania Aria of Sorrow.. the list goes on

Collecting for GBA is fun. I was able to get a copy of Ninja Five-0 for under $5 when I was working at Gamestop. I've also got DOOM and DOOM II and a few other rare games.

The thing i hate the most is how much I have to rely on eBay and the potential for getting knock off carts. Though for some reason most of them have a hilariously bad Nintendo logo that is painfully obvious.

Oh man did we get those all the time. The pokemon ones were really out of hand. I don't usually buy stuff on ebay any more. Going to conventions is the best/cheapest way to collect.

The most Retro I go is NES and up (SNES, N64, all playstation generations, etc).

Im mostly a collector of more "uncommon" things and import games/systems. I often collect things like Japanese versions of games (for example I have every main series Final Fantasy game released for it's original system in english and japanese) and even consoles like a JP Famicom and an iQue (Chinese N64).

Speaking of conventions, is anyone in here attending PAX East later this month? It'll be my third year going and I can't wait.

Also, my most prized retro console, a GBA SP Japanese Famicom Edition. It isn't backlit but it is so gorgeous and in such good shape.

That loneliness is not a function of solitude.

Not sure if this has been discussed here recently, but what is your guys' favorite video game site?

I still visit Gamespot pretty often. Danny O'Dwyer on there puts out great videos consistently. I stopped visiting for a while until I started watching his stuff. What other sites do you go to for video game info?

tbh Im so out of the loop with new releases for games that this thread is a good source for my info lol.

Or whatever gets RT'd onto my Twitter timeline. I don't really frequent many sites or keep on top of new release info as much as I used to.
