Wouldn't mind seeing Liverpool win the league this season. Klopp, Mane, Coutinho, Firmino, Lallana, they've some nice players and a great manager. Plus no Stevie G is a plus.

So what's yer least favourite commentator cliché? I think mine is "he's not that kind of player" after said player launches into a leg breaker on some poor unassuming bloke just trying to kick a ball.

As a Leeds fan I'd happily take a Liverpool title win over the Chelsea scum. But I can't see anyone catching them sadly.

 

Wales and NI got their fines because, while the poppies weren't on the pitch, they did organise the stuff in the stands. I think their was a solider holding a wreath at the mouth of the tunnel too.

As for the fines, I've absolutely no idea how they've calculated that. You'd think that England and Scotland would receive the same fines. Maybe it was means tested?

 

If it was means tested why did we get fined less than the North? Hell why did we get fined less than them anyway, we wore the 1916 commemoration on the pitch, they didn't. It's just all a bit stupid. They should have just dropped it and said "from here out here's the punishment".

 

Ours is not the position to question the wisdom (read lunacy) of FIFA.

Hang on a minute, the FA have provided absolutely no information about how they reached their decision. The only information about the story currently is that one Saiss' teammates told the ref after the match that Shelvey had said something relating to his origins. No other players reported hearing it, nor did any of the officials.

He may indeed be a racist shit, but I don't think enough has been divulged at this point to be in any way sure of it.

I would hope that the FA received more evidence than they've so far admitted to, because this could well open a rather unpleasant can of worms if they haven't.

 

I'm sure it was widely reported that only one player spoke to the ref about it, but apparently three Wolves players gave evidence, so I have no idea whether the earlier reports were wrong or whether they just didn't say anything at the time.
