I highly disagree. Really look at the verse lyrics.. they're pretty great

 

I have. I mean, it's only been out a day, so my opinion can change. But they did nothing for me.

 

I really like both songs

 

Not completely with Brooklyn yet, but I don't dislike it.

 

I'm indifferent to this song.

 

I'm super surprised people aren't loving the song. What about it is so off putting? The overly repetitive chorus? The spoken word verses? The abrupt transition between the two? Just wondering, because those things are what make me love the song.

 

Especially since he has done both before

 

I could hear that in the intro with the chopped up vocal parts. Kinda similar to the beginning of "Wild Heart" and the other vocal samples on the record. That's another album I'm really looking forward to next year!

 

Me too! Their debut grew on me so much and I loved it to begin with. Like a river runs means so much to me.

 

Really hope Brooklyn is the weakest song on the album. Not feeling it at all.

 

It's probably the weakest AM related single that's been released. "Fire Escape" is absolutely perfect, though. I think that's why the quality drop-off seems so radical.

 

Everything on that first AM EP was so, so bad. Everything since has been gold.

 

Synesthesia?!?!?

 

Not for me.

 

"Synesthesia" is a jam, but I never listen to any of those other songs.

 

After The Fire was my favorite on there

 

I truly do like every song on it.. but never find myself listening to it. Probably the weakest official release of his career but I think he could do no wrong so I'm probably somewhat biased and still don't think it's bad by any means.

I'm digging Fire Escape, but Brooklyn is starting to grow on me. However, neither of the songs yet have the staying power to me as any of the tracks (minus See Her on the Weekend, never will be able to get behind that song ) of the first AMITW album.

 

Surprise.. AMAZING new song.

This is great. Even more excited to hear the whole album now.
