I only watched one show this year so my answer is limited to Episode 9 of Game of Thrones and Episode 10 of Game of Thrones.

 

Game of thrones-Battle of the bastards. One of the most gripping and satisfying hours of television I've ever seen

The 20 Best TV Episodes of 2016

"Fish Out of Water" is number one.

 

I'm still baffled that I haven't hit a single Bojack Horseman that has any inkling of how apparently amazing it becomes, but I'll press on eventually.

You're about 1-2 episodes away from the turning point. Then season 2 begins at an even higher level and season 3 is damn near perfect.

God damn I finally got around to watching the first episode of Horace and Pete since it's on Hulu now. That was so devastating and just fascinating to watch. So yeah i guess toss the 2 BoJack episodes I mentioned earlier, San Junipero, whichever was the best episode of Silicone Valley this year, and that Horace and Pete episode on a list and there's my top 5. Subject to change as I continue watching Horace and Pete

 

What popdisaster said. You're super close to getting to some of the best television.

New Girl's "Wedding Eve" and "Landing Gear" may not be critical darling episodes, but they were such a perfect culmination of the entire season/characters up to that point I feel like I need to mention them.
