It might be the accent- he's one of a few bands over here that sings in a broadly Scottish accent which, if you aren't used to hearing much, can be kinda jarring. I struggle with a lot of broadly southern US accents in music, took me a while to get into Manchester Orchestra for that reason.

 

We're going to get another Spiderman reboot before the new BN album. I am talking about a reboot after this 2017 reboot.

 

At this point we'll get universal heat death before a new Brand New album.

Well they are very Scottish so that is understandable, it's probably why they've never been given a massive push outside of Europe and why they're not that known. Over here they're massive festival headliners.


Anyways I just got back from seeing biffy and Brand New. My god what a gig, I haven't seen Brand New since about 07 so it was so good to catch them live again. I was 2nd row so managed to get a great view (I especially loved how mad Vinnie plays his guitar). I just really hope they come back to the uk for a final headline tour before they call it quits as 45mins was not enough time.

 

Jesse said see you next time to the Birmingham crowd. I know I'm clutching at straws but that's enough evidence for me to believe they'll be back haha

 

We have gotten new My Bloody Valentine, The Avalanches, Jesus and Mary Chain and A Tribe Called Quest albums before the next Brand New album.

Yeah, definitely less generic than Foo Fighters. I guess nothing ever really stood out enough for me to follow them up, however I have a few friends that love them.

 

Don't be so sure yet. ATDI wouldn't be the first band to release a single, announce an impending album, then change its mind and not put it out.

 

I was about to say I don't need that negativity but then realised that's exactly what Brand New did and now I'm sad hahaha

 

I'm hoping that the Brand New album delay means that I Am A Nightmare won't be on the album tbh

 

lol I think that would be a bit odd, you can't put a song on there that has been out for such a long time. I don't hate the song I don't even dislike it and it probably would have fit nice if placed in a track order correctly but at this point I want a collection of music that feels completely fresh and new. I'm worried they will never release the album though

 

At this point I don't see an LP5. And I say that in being completely at peace with that idea. For me, another album would be really fun, and a huge surprise - but I'm not expecting it. But I'm not disappointed about that at all.

It sounds like the reason for the delay was that they scrapped whatever they were working on, so I would say the odds of you getting your wish are pretty high (if, like you said in your later post, it even comes out at all, which I'm still hopeful for but not optimistic).

The amount of times I've tried to get someone into There Will Be Fireworks only for them to balk at the accent are numerous. Lol. Which is unfortunate. The Dark Dark Bright is one of the best albums I've ever heard.

 

Probably all of them apart from Brand New! haha. Have The Movielife even started recording anything new?
