    Where are your friends tonight?

I'm sure this video has been posted in here before, but I've been playing it nonstop this week, it's nearly even brought me to tears a few times. The way Justin sings some of those lines makes a song that was already incredible and emotional even more so.

I doubt it will win against Bowie or Radiohead but I'm stoked it got the nomination anyways.

I don't really find myself coming back to this. I mean, I'm catching up on missed albums and stuff but I still find time to listen to Tribe or Pinegrove or Jeff once every few days. I haven't played this in full since 9/28

I've listened the past two nights, and probably 3-4 times a week since it came out. It's pretty firmly my AOTY.

Yeah it's actually my highest played full album this year behind Pinegrove, I just haven't listened in 2 months for whatever reason

Yeah playing it again now this is definitely in my top 5. Strafford blows me away every single time.

I'll write you into all of my songs Supporter

This is my favorite vinyl I own. It sounds absolutely astounding.

And probably my #2 AOTY behind The 1975.

Yeah, I listened to this so much the first few weeks, it's surprising I'm still coming back to it a handful of times every week still.

I'll likely detail the reasons why I love it so much in a longer form post later in the month, but for now I'll say that this has been so entwined in my emotions that I legitimately feel a connection to it that goes beyond pure enjoyment. This sentiment is true for many of my favorite albums (I'd certainly say it's true for Carrie and Lowell, my AOTY for 2015). It's a record I can turn to when I can't sleep, when I feel drained, when I feel overwhelmed, when I need comfort or solace or escape. And that is without mentioning the strengths of the music itself. I definitely have that sort of sprititual connection to this record that I look for in my AOTY and that makes an album stick with me for the long haul.

I'm just not 100% on Moon Water and 45. The rest of the album is pretty much perfect

I only listened to the album a few times because it's not really something I'm that interested in, but Creeks alone made me give a honorable mention to the album on my album of the year list

Impossible for me to listen to this song and not get emotional. Crushing.

Moon Water is definitely the song that gives me the most trouble here. I've come around to it recently and think it serves as a great transitional song into the last section of the record, but I'd still call it my least favorite if I had to select one.

Seeing this album in full at the Hollywood Bowl absolutely cemented in the top 5 of the year for me

I feel the same way, it just feels like such a personal record that came out at just the right time for me to connect with it. I've played it several times a week ever since it came out, so much that I can't separate it from certain activities like walking to my therapist's office and trying to fall asleep. It's not my #1 album of the year (that goes to Nick Cave), but I have a feeling this will be one of my all-time favorites.
