I think as far as who dominated this year, that's gotta be Chance. Having the first verse on Pablo gave him wild mainstream recognition and he capitalized on that really well with Coloring Book. Dude skyrocketed in popularity this year. I think the same can be said for Desiigner although his mixtape was bad and his fame kinda started and ended with Panda.

My favorite output of the year is definitely Thug though. I'm Up, SS3, and especially Jeffery are all great projects. YG's a close second for me, Gucci had a good year although I think he'll really do some amazing shit in 2017. 21 Savage had a damn good year too. Banner year for the genre honestly, wild how many good projects dropped after all of last year's heavy hitters.

Haven't listened to that track yet, but I'm excited for new Soul. I'm obviously in the minority here, but I love Control System (and the Longterm stuff) and think that even These Days had some good tracks.

I saw Post Malone said something about all these lists coming out when they haven't heard his album yet and I laughed pretty hard that he thinks anyone would put him in their top 50

Personal tastes aside (I like J. Cole an think Ab-Soul is very boring), who at TDE thought Ab-Soul dropping on the same day as J. Cole was a good idea? Seems a little weird to me. Maybe the release machine couldn't be stopped anymore.

My friend texted me Ab's album cover this morning and with the message "He looks stressed, if Ab's stress it'll be classic. Last album was bunk." lol

I'm not Ab or J Cole's biggest fans either but I find myself excited for both, now if only they weren't dropping on my Dad's bday so I could get to em same time as everyone else lol.

It's always funny when hip-hop dorks herald TDE as this juggernaut label when it's literally the worst

TDE is heralded largely cus of the content coming out of it, business side of things they're definitely shitty.

Looking forward to Post Malone tbh. Obviously won't be in my top 50 or whatever but I like everything released from it and the August 26th mixtape has a few bangers (40 Funk and Money Made Me Do It).

The Post Malone Fleetwood Mac cover might have turned me off to him forever, but I think White Iverson is the only other song of his I've heard.
