Not a fan of this one either. "Solitude" is incredible though.

My thoughts exactly. This was a big step up & I'm very excited for the album but Do It, Try It did nothing for me at all.

Yeah I'm not sure what it was exactly, but just wasn't feeling that first one. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album now.

It felt like if M83 were a guest on an episode of Sesame Street or something haha like that's the vibe I kept getting from it & just couldn't take it seriously. It wasn't BAD per-say...

Haha I'd say that's a pretty accurate description!

I think it Do It, Try It probably just works a lot better as an opening than a standalone single. Honestly I don't understand why this song wasn't released first - far catchier and just flat-out better than Do It, Try It.

Haha I do always wonder the creative (or business) decisions when it comes to the first songs that are released on an upcoming album (take Good Charlotte and their upcoming for example). Generally once the album drops and I've heard the rest, I always feel like there would have been better suited songs for first release, but that's just me!

Eh, it mostly comes down to if the management team and the artists can agree on one song to release. It's very possible one side just didn't like the song as much, but I don't know, this seems like a really weird call. Could also be that they were intentionally trying to avoid another one-hit wonder like Midnight City coming about, because honestly, I could see this song achieving those heights.

Haha yeah, before I started looking into them more, "Midnight City" was the only song I heard from them that was everywhere.
