Clearly they had a record almost done and Jason even posted in here that he had most of it..

They weren't happy with it so they scrapped it, wouldn't want something that wasn't up to their standards

 

Would you rather have a good album soon or an incredible album in a year?

That frustration is definitely understandable.

I've vented that frustration here, but mainly because of my own expectations not being met by something they technically promised this year.

Consider expectations tempered.

If we don't get lp 5 I could see them releasing sealed to me and that being the song they go out on

 

I sadly think that doesnt seem to be far fetched at all and could see it happening. I'm obviously hoping for more though!

 

Does anyone think Jesse will release solo music on his own after brand new? I don't think he will tour much but maybe a solo album after a few years?

 

I'd love some Jesse Lacey solo. At this point I wonder who will release a new album first, Brand New or Coasta. Those Lacey boys sure take their time.

 

Yeah Coasta too, hopefully both next year!

 

At the other end of the spectrum you got Car Seat Headrest. So prolific.

 

I'd love for a solo album, but somehow doubt he'd release one. I think it'd be real funny if after they broke up he became like super active on social media after about 16 years of pretty much saying nothing online or at shows.

 

I just wonder if it would be easier to release music without having to live up to the brand new name

 

Idk, I feel like it could go either way. He'll either feel less nervous about it and write something and release it OR (and I think this is more likely) he'll try to write something, never think its good enough and we'll end up hearing about it after he passes and someone finds the recording somewhere.

 

Well I enjoyed them immensely last night. They seemed to be into it which was nice. Was stood in a wee section with lots of other BN fans so lots of singing going on

 

Seeing them tonight and I'm very excited. It's my first time at the seated section of a venue in about 9 years, interested to see how it affects the experience!

 

Pretty cool how many over seas brand new fans we have here, I never realized

Could you not argue though that there's the chance he could be described as 'Jesse Lacey (of brand new) in some circles, therefore not losing the tag?

Jesse Lacey solo seems super unlikely imo but sometimes you just get the itch so who knows

 

What was the set like?
