My guess is that it will be CD/Digital first and then a vinyl release later. Since vinyl pressing takes a good amount of time.

    I am a haunted house. I'm superstitious.

I'm listening to Angels' new EP and it seems like Tom provided us with another of his lines that start with a random age + random object on the song 'Chasing Shadows':

"18 and a wicker basket, red cape and an open casket..."

It seems like he's joking with us at this point.

Overload would have been a sick blink song with Mark's harmonies in the verses. They would've done away with the prechorus and it would've been a top blink song.

None of the other songs are good in my opinion ha

Yeah, it almost seems like he thinks the "____teen and a [random object]" lyrics are like a cool running theme in his songs or something. That would actually be the better alternative to him just not even realizing that he's repeating the same damn thing in every release. I don't get how someone can be that unaware.

That said, I actually enjoyed the first track. It was a solid Tom song, but I lost interest after that.

    Sleekest of beaks. So Good.

Maybe its his attempt to make his spacey/dreamy lyrics somewhat relate-able to the listeners.

Overload and Artillery are decent songs. But they still lack something, or maybe we just listened to the same structures and melodies in previously released songs.

Tom's lyrics are consistently, laughably bad. With that being said, I do sort of enjoy the sound/melody of most of the EP for some reason (besides the goofy synths/electronics forced into every intro or bridge).

I'm still fucking elated he. is. out.

  9. Another snippet from that Tom interview:

"After secret meetings with people who have "multiple stars on their shoulders" and "multiple PhDs," DeLonge said he's learned things that will blow people's minds about an advanced state of science that includes the conquering of gravity and "a bunch of weird shit going on on the moon that nobody knows about." How insane are his findings? DeLonge claims he took a meeting with a major film studio and they thought he was lying to them. "Maybe it all sounded so crazy to them or made them so fearful that they shut down and wouldn't have any more communication about it," he said."

Is anyone else picturing a meeting between Tom and a film studio where he's just like rambling about aliens and stuff and the studio is like "yeahhh let's cut this meeting short please"

just listened to Tom's new EP. there are very, very tiny pockets in the first and second songs that I enjoy, and I think if those pockets were expanded upon the songs could potentially be good, but there's just too much I dislike about how he writes music now.

    can't wait for new blink

Edit: one of the songs sounds so similar in words, cadence and melody to the end of Young London that it makes me wonder if he literally forgets he wrote certain songs and thinks they're still unfinished ideas in his head

There's so much fluff when it comes to Tom's music; it's hard for me to even pay attention or keep track anymore. It almost makes me appreciate how long it's been since I've heard Mark sing a song. Also, I'm probably in the minority here, but I'm really glad they're whittling down the number of songs on the Blink album. Tom is proof quantity doesn't equal quality.

Always makes me laugh thinking about John Feldmann's career. Not hating because I've always loved Goldfinger, but it's funny thinking about how he wrote a song called "Spokesman" that was about people not writing their own songs and then went on to be one of the biggest producer's/co-writers in the genre, worked with Ashlee Simpson, Hilary Duff, etc. haha.

But really, I'm stoked to hear what he's pulled out of Mark, Matt and Travis. Hate listening to interviews because it makes me way too anxious to hear it all.

New AVA EP is pretty rad. Probably more interesting than whatever we get with blink actually, haha

Working in academia myself I am annoyed by how Tom now made references to secret contacts to scientists multiple times. I am pretty sure that is totall bs.

    Or in his language: that.is.not.how.dissemination.of.scientific.knowledge.works.

I feel like Tom's songwriting has evolved slowly and some of the sounds feel new to me. Doesn't feel like the same old spacey noise, but more like slightly different spacey noise haha.

It's certainly no reinvention, but I guess parts of it feel different and newer to me.
