Especially since its now the 3rd time they've used that gimmick in the last month or so. First it was Charlotte coming out with all 3 to congratulate her dad. Then it was her saying they were the horsewomen, before apologizing to her dad for the comparison. Then this.

 

Bingo.

 

I don't care who gives the speech, that's not a good argument. The crowd shouldn't be dbags in the first place, regardless of her being a heel that was wayyyy over the top. "well it wasn't someone they liked so they should be entitled to take over the show and hijack it however they want" its completely unfair to say someone cant give a speech that's actually positive because they're a heel, unless you're one of those people who think Kayfabe is real life...

 

Isolated to just that one moment of genuine gratitude, I thought Charlotte did a great job with the speech. I'm talking this part specifically: ytCropper | Charlotte honored in the official WWE Women's Championship presentation: Raw, April 4, 2016

You could just tell it was coming from a very real place. That said, that short moment surrounded by the heel work stuff made it super confusing. Put Becky in that position as the champion, and let her give an impassioned promo like that, and you elevate her up to another level completely. I think they missed a really big opportunity to help get Becky even more over by not having her win the belt and be the won to give that speech. Would have been fantastic coming from Sasha, too, but I think it's clear that Sasha doesn't need that added rub, she's a star. Becky is right on the cusp of that and could really use that little nudge.

 

It was a bad segment, and Charlotte was the worst person to be put in that position. That's exactly why it failed. Sasha is a little too much of a tweener to make it really work, although that crowd would've cheered her anyway. That should've been all Becky if they were set on doing that type of promo, with Charlotte interrupting her mid-way through.

Jules can act as outraged as he wants about a post-Mania crowd hijacking a segment like it's never happened before, but the disappointment of that whole scene is not the crowd's fault.

 

and if you want me to believe "this is the future", you just showed me at WM that it looks a lot like the past. Overloaded tag matches with almost no story line, and great women's matches overshadowed by booking.

And @M.Lee is right. The crowd should be expected to boo Charlotte heavily after that finish. If you want them to cheer, you dont hand her the mic from the start (even if she's the one that pushed for the new belt the hardest).

 

That hijacking was disgusting to watch.

 

The women's title segment last night was real dumb. Why would anyone buy into what Charlotte is saying when she cheated to win the damn thing? It was foolish to put her in that situation in the first place. I didn't really enjoy being a part of the crowd last night in general, but that segment was fucking awful.

Was it ever explained why neither Brock or Dean weren't on the show at all last night?

 

I'm assuming Brock won't show up again until around Summerslam. Dean is probably just selling. Even though Shane jumped off of a cell and still showed up the next night.

 

I just assume they gave Dean the night off. I don't think he's missed much time since the curb stomp to film his movie well over a year ago. And with so many new people on the show (Crews, Enzo and Cass, Corbin) there wasn't a lot of extra time available for Dean to do or say something.

 

They need to find dean a new feud to lose before he returns

 

So Maryse returned because she's joining the cast for the next season of Total Divas lol

Renee and Lana have as well

I mean, I assume she's also going to be Miz's full-time manager and potentially wrestle down the line.

 

Naomi coming back too apparently. But lets not bury the lede here. Renee Young joining means more Dean Ambrose on Total Divas. Today is a glorious day

 

I like Maryse so cool?

 

Not gonna pretend I don't watch it with my girlfriend every week, so definitely glad Renee is joining the cast.

 

I like Maryse too. Just thought it was a little out of nowhere haha

 

Total Divas isn't bad. It has more action in one hour than in two hours of Smackdown or a Raw before a PPV. Lol

 

And I was disregarded when I said Maryse was spotted arriving at the arena. Hah.

Total Divas is trashy fun for a wrestling fan, I enjoy it from time to time. Renee and Lana are a good adds.
