idk if you guys have heard but there’s this player called Luis Diaz, he’s from Barrancas, and he plays for Liverpool

    It's all hell.

I know Amorim is going to inherit a dumpster fire of a squad when he joins United, but they're going to be really good aren't they lol.

In fairness, ETH got Ajax to the semi final.

Imagine leaving this Sporting side this season, just to go coach Johnny Evans and Anthony lol

That’s harsh on Evans tbf. He’s been great for us.

I know there’s constant chatter about Gyokeres following Amorim to Old Trafford, but Hojlund has such a similar profile and seeing the way Gyokeres benefits and profits off of Amorim’s system I believe Hojlund is going to ball out.

Apparently at 1-0 up, Noel Gallagher was on TV saying “I didn’t think the game would this easy.” I wonder what he said at 4-1 down. Eat shit lmao.

Pep is salty right now, when asked about facing United under Amorim this year he went out of his way to point out that United aren’t in the UCL.

Imagine getting bothered by what Pep Guardiola says in press conferences. He says that kind of shit because he knows the press want something and to distract coverage from the poor performances.

You think I was born yesterday? Of course I know how the game works. God forbid I get a laugh out of a prickly quote from Pep, if I felt the need to speak up any time someone took a pot shot at United in here I wouldn’t be able to hold down a job or maintain personal relationships.

I think one of the funniest things about the ETH sacking is he immediately flew home to the Netherlands to be with his parents and left his wife and kids in Manchester. I get it but fucking hell the optics are hilarious

    hmmm

It's true. Fabinho was a more consistently quality player for Liverpool than Alonso was. There's always been a bit of revisionism around the latter since he left.

I don’t remember Alonso as anything other than a generally decent midfielder, that I hated, while he was at Liverpool.

I think Modric is kinda similar? Very good midfielder but nothing special at Spurs.

  23. JM95

    hmmm

Pretty much. He had a great first season (during which he was injured for three months) and a great final season, and in between he varied between ok-to-pretty good. But you'd think he was scoring goals from the halfway line every other week the way some talk.

Whereas the reason the Barry switch didn't happen in 2008 was because Arsenal's bid for Alonso was £10m — which shows where his stock was — and Villa wanted double that for Barry, which meant we were going to lose money on a move that was designed to free up money. And then Alonso has a great final season, goes to Real Madrid for £30m, and it gets washed over.

That Alonso-Busquets double pivot behind Iniesta-Xavi-D. Silva for Spain remains one of the greatest tactical setups in the history of the sport. I think any forward and defense would work with those five inserted.

He was already at Madrid when I truly got into the game, so I don't have any opinion on his days at Liverpool. Just jealousy for his hair and beard game.

Liverpool fell off the following season didn’t they? That probably adds to the narrative. Alonso was that great, rather than Liverpool signed Aquilani who bombed.
