Hailu absolutely rocks. I found him when he opened a few shows for Parquet Courts (a band i appreciate more the older i get), of all acts. So good!

About to see Andre 3000 do his flute thing live

 

That was probably one of the best shows I’ve ever seen, he performed with a bunch of guests including Mndsgn, Bilal, and the 100-year-old Marshall Allen of Sun Ra. Everything was improvised on the spot and 3k spoke to the crowd a lot - just truly a magical night.

Electric Miles' Live-Evil, In a Silent Way, and Tribute to Jack Johnson are required listening in addition to BB and Agharta. I also love Black Beauty and the Cellar Door sessions for that era. Then once you feel like it can't get any weirder try On the Corner. Get Up With It and onward it gets choppy.

Fuck yeah. I’ve been big on In A Silent Way and the complete sessions since first hearing them. I’ve only recently started branching out, a little intimidated by the discography and how different every last release is, so I appreciate the breakdown
