I also found out I could have been getting Amazon Prime for free with my metro pcs plan this whole time... I just downgraded my phone plan so not anymore, but I could have been saving like a hundred bucks a year for the past 5 years..

 

man, I really just need to cancel Netflix. $22.99 a month for a service I never use is nuts.

Like, it's crazy that ad free Peacock is $13.99 while ad-free Netflix is $9 more. Insanity. And at least my ad free Hulu is $4 less than Netflix

 

Note that I consider 4k plans to be a must have. Do they even sell 1080p TVs these days????

yup, for pretty damn cheap (like $80 for a 32 inch with Roku or Fire TV OS built in)

I actually use Netflix quite a bit. It was Disney and Apple that I only used a few times a year when there was a show in really liked on there.

If I didn't have like 5 months left on my Paramount+ I'd probably cancel that too because I barely use it anymore.

 

Also since my TV broke ( 6 year old 55 inch TCL Roku TV backlight burnt out) I haven't been watching too much TV anyway, mainly just on my Kindle and Laptop. I have been listening to a lot more music and podcasts around the house. Today I signed up for a 3 month trial of Sirius XM's streaming package. I have been enjoying it quite a lot actually.

 

I gotta use my technology to its full potential, otherwise it was just a waste of money

i think the only dedicated 4K plan i pay for now is Netflix, and it has less to do with the picture quality and more about Atmos audio. upscaling technology has gotten pretty good that the differences between 1080p and 4K streams are negligible unless your TV just has super good HDR and visual display.

other streaming i pay for just comes with 4K automatically (save for Max, which i get free with my AT&T plan)

I had this weird thought listening to Sirius XM for the first time that was like "wow this feels like more serious version of the radio stations from GTA" then I remembered that is what those were making fun of lol

For music I like XMU, which is like the indie station. I also dig their downtempo lofi beats station. Been listening to Progress for political stuff. Fight Nation has some pro wrestling talk shows which I like. Of course I also enjoy all their Conan stuff. Not into boring modern Howard.
