EDIT: Why City supporters were ok with him leaving. The Club itself will let (almost) anyone walk if another club meets their price.

 

Yeah, and tbf we always knew he wasn't a brilliant finisher even when we got him. But he did so much of the other stuff well, and he brought the best out of the players around him. He has just fallen off SO hard. He doesn't really do anything well at the moment and it's a bit sad.

I was really surprised with how positively rated Palace were going into this season. I think most of the opinions I saw around here, Twitter and in the podcasts I listen to all had them as looking strong upper mid table contenders and basically carrying on with the form they'd shown under the new manager.

I felt like I must be the idiot, because to me they were going to be off to a shaky start, having lost two key players (Olise and Anderson) and there was a decent amount of speculation around Eze, Guehi and Mateta going right up until the window as well. I couldn't see how they could possibly come out in the same form as they finished.

That being said, I didn't expect them to be this bad given that they managed to keep those three players...

 

I didn’t think Palace were going to be anything special. A lot of their players, Guehi and Mateta the biggest examples, were in the form of their lives heavily outplaying what they were. I also think Glasner’s style of play is easily countered, their midfield is as open as the United midfield of last season and performing even worse.

Their summer signings have been awful too, Kamada looks wildly out of his depth for example. But yeah I didn’t think they were going to be this bad.

 

I wonder if the Newcastle hierarchy are sending Palace a custom gif, showing £2m flying out the window of Guehi's valuation after every loss.

 

I’d imagine they might do, if they wanted everyone to dislike them even more.

They’ll just wait and buy him in the summer probably.
