Giants gonna draft Jeanty just to let him walk in six years and watch the Eagles sign him?

Doesn't look like that pick is just ever going to provide the value it should

The biggest Caserio blunder to me will always be passing on Hamilton to move down and draft this dude

They really need to start looking at giving guys like Patterson a chance because that OL pass pro yesterday was unacceptable across the board (Slowik's playcalling ties into this but these guys still cant pick up simple stunt blitzes)

I mean every QB in this draft is a giant question mark, James Pearce Jr is awesome but many rushers before him have been and haven't panned out, OL is a crapshoot a lot of the time, and Jeanty is putting up historic numbers, why not just fuck around and pick him #1 and see what happens when the league is getting more run heavy we're watching Montgomery+Gibbs helping take pressure off Goff so he can put up MVP numbers?

This is something I'm going to be annoying about for the offseason

When our teams passed on Kyle Hamilton for stinky players:

Throw Jeanty on the Lions and just run every play out of the T formation

some poor team like the Raiders is gonna use that logic, sign Darnold to a massive contract, draft Jeanty early, and then be shocked when it doesn’t work the same way because they don’t also have the best OL in the league

I think a lot of it also has to do with the fact that the Lions also have a good team all around, and really good coaching which the Raiders... Don't.

Yeah basically the Raiders and the Falcons aren't allowed to partake in this

Probably not the Jaguars or Browns either

Basically if you're a team I like you should pick Ashton Jeanty

who is the good Jeanty team? Dallas feels good if they can stink their way into having a good enough pick to get him and getting rid of McCarthy and giving Ben Johnson his blank check to leave DET. I can talk myself into NE after a really solid offseason to address their millions of other needs but Dave will probably tell me why that is incorrect

Bengals could be good too, but I think they make the playoffs and it’s hopefully moot because someone picks him earlier

Houston is another phenomenal option. Bengals (as I just saw you mentioned) are a good option. I feel like there are other teams that could work some witchcraft to make it happen as well that'd be good. I think Dallas is the absolute best option though.

If Ben Johnson didn't want to go to Washington with new ownership and front office people, I can't see him going to Dallas

There are definitely teams with more pressing needs than adding Ashton Jeanty out there but also Ashton Jeanty can alleviate a LOT of that pressure if he is Him

maybe, I guess we’ll see if any of Cincinnati/Philadelphia/Buffalo get fed up with their current HC if they hit the early-to-mid playoff ceiling again, but if they don’t, it’s probably the best available job and almost certainly the one with the biggest paycheck if Jerry wants it to be regardless. Seems like a bad year to take over a bad team with a good pick since the QB class is seemingly so mediocre this year and that’s the easiest way up

one of the ringer fantasy guys this morning was talking about Saquon and made the point that a good running back elevates an already good team but a good running back doesn't help a bad team

    makes sense to me

It’ll be interesting to see which head coaching jobs become available in the offseason because you could make an argument for at least ten of them. You already have the Jets. Then I think these are real possibilities or inevitabilities:

    Eagles
    Giants
    Cowboys
    Panthers
    Saints
    Dolphins
    Patriots
    Bengals
    Browns
    Jaguars
    Titans
    Raiders
    Broncos

No way he's going to Dallas. I could maybe see Jax if there's a new GM he likes. He's not going to a dysfunctional org.

panthers - not sure they'll fire another coach after one year
patriots - handpicked guy to take over from Bill, hard to see it
titans - first year offensive background guy and it's not his QB, I don't see it
broncos - first year of new qb, even if that qb stinks I don't see it yet but likely next year

saints raiders and browns are such horrible situations for a new coach

but there's only 32 of these jobs so I imagine it's hard to say no

    this is my take too

lmao if the Patriots make a big stink about Jerod Mayo being the heir apparent to Belichick and then can him after 1 year. (Not saying it’s a bad decision - in the little I’ve watched them, they’ve looked outcoached by bad coaching staffs like NYJ and JAX)
