Late, but for Jeanty, I think it comes down to 1) stay healthy and 2) make playoff.

Just read that Dylan Sampson is only three TDs away from matching the Tennessee single season rushing TD record (18), without playing in seven quarters thus far. Has broken 100 yards in every game, except Oklahoma with 92. He’s quietly having an absolutely stellar season completely under the radar.

 

I thought it would’ve been on that absolutely massive tackle where he got folded from two directions. It somehow feels even worse when it’s just a freak running pivot tear.

 

I looked at it I would guess it was at the end when he leg was planted and his knee was forced out to the side. Again not the most common mechanism of injury. But with the way he easily got up and started celebrating, I think it was probably hanging on by a thread.

Maybe it happens a whole lot and I just don’t notice but I feel like shutouts rarely happen in college football (excluding when division 1 teams beat up on lower division schools). It’s just so easy to get at least a field goal or a fluke / last minute touchdown that keeping a team off the scoreboard entirely is pretty impressive (even against a bad team like Purdue).

I’m sure someone will easily share a stat that’s like “45 shut outs against division 1 opponents happen every year” but I still stand by that thought lol
