I've set alarms in the middle of the night in the past, tracked solar storms on that website / map, and never managed to see them before in 41 years

last one, I promise, but this is what I saw when I stepped out my front door to put our trash & recycle out to the street:

Beautiful. We could see them only through camera out here but we have a lotttt of light pollution from the nuke plant

I just went outside and didn't see a damn thing.

 

Same thing happened here. It was bright pink right outside our house, by the time we got the kid bathed and dressed to make a run out to a less populated area, it had mostly dissipated.

 

Man what the fuck. This country is awful, abolish the death penalty already.

Only bullshit is you can barely see it with the naked eye under light pollution, but putting your camera on night sight gives cool results

It's absolutely nuts to be here. I'm just bummed to live in such a lit up area and can barely see it. Would be cool if I was at my mom's 10 mins down the road where she's just in the woods but she's asleep at this point lol
