I do actually wanna be clear that most these arguments are principle based. I don’t care if we disagree about something in the offseason or if I was right about one thing in a vacuum. I do care if it was made into a huge issue that we disagree and like the opposing opinion I’m presenting is bullshit.

if it was simply accepted that I hate the Gabe Davis signing originally, there would be zero gloating about it haha. But there was a lot of unnecessary competitiveness that got introduced into the argument at the time and I tend to get more adamant when my thought process is being discredited rather than just not aligned with.

Revisiting my 2024 albums playlist of albums I enjoyed this year, I keep coming back to the Restorations album as one of my favorites.

 

It’s not just Matt and it’s not just football though. it’s me not wanting people to treat me like an idiot just because they don’t agree lol. You get very stubborn and argumentative when treated like that too. It’s kinda natural.

That does happen a lot when me and Matt discuss football, yes, & I would like Matt to drop his air of objectivity when we talk football opinions, because I genuinely do enjoy postulating ideas and doing DIY research about a very complex thing that neither of us are truly experts about. But we can only enjoy it in that way if we both accept that truth in the moment, that no amount of research can make one argument or the other fully correct a lot of the time and we’re more so just supporting our opinions with logic that we each *subjectively* consider convincing.

if we can move in that direction more consistently, none of this will continue to be an issue

Randall i will admit every now and again we probably do pile on but i think a much larger part of the issue is that you take simple disagreements as personal attacks. I dont mean this to sound like a dick but you come off as someone who is very proud of how much they know about something (in this case football) and when you make a post or have an opinion you are just so sure that youre completely right and are then FLOORED when people dont agree or have a differing opinion. Youre not very good at being disagreed with. You equate people disagreeing with you to treating you like an idiot and that is simply just not at all whats been happening in here.
