I love this band so much but I think this new era is less of what I want from them. The big pop production of the last era was right up my alley. This is…fine…but they can do better.

This is a vibe. Seems like they went through it as a band and this is a pretty cohesive look into it.

A little more gives me part of the band vibes. Mosquito was also a standout to me of the non-singles.

there’s a lot similarities with the last coin album (makes sense since chase produced) which I don’t really remember much talk about around here either (but I also really enjoyed)

It’s sonically so diff from the last lp - seems like a complete reaction to that process

Think this is where I land too. Disappointing as I think they are some of the best out there writing pop songs these days. Can't help but get bored by a lot of these tracks after enjoying When you know someone and Bass player's brother.

It is very plodding at times but it’s a great headphones album - my biggest complaint is that the album ends so flatly

The last two tracks and I didn’t even ask are just throwaways.

Some great catchy melodies on here, but it's definitely taking multiple listens to pick them out. I've found quite a bit of their stuff over the past five years very "meh" upon first listen, but it almost always grows on me over time to an extent that surprises me.

They are just an incredibly easy listen - so it’s easy for them to grow over time

I’m really really enjoying this new record. I would think this would have went into one ear and out the other on paper, but it’s catching my ears. Certainly a vibes record
