Okay, for a lot of people it’s not lol

 

To add onto this, I'm not sure if it was an actual issue or not (might've been a browser issue of some kind), but I got a Steam Deck for my son as an early birthday present and I was setting up the parental controls and shit for an account for him last night and Steam gave me SO many issues setting that up. Also kept failing to load the store. I was annoyed as hell and it took way too long for what should've been a simple process

 

That sounds frustrating as hell

 

Now that it's all working the way it should it's a godsend but getting to that point REALLY sucked

 

gonna be real, after my initial excitement I ended up selling my Steam Deck after a few months. That thing is a turd.

like imagine not being able to run Cult of the fucking Lamb at a locked 60 lmao.

 

I feel like we perpetually care about the complete opposite things

idk I just got tired of worrying if the Steam Deck will run it with every new release. It's not fun. Or trying to find workarounds for things that should just run. Hoping games are optimized enough that they won't literally drain my battery within an hour.

It's a beautiful device, I love the hardware but I realized now that PC gaming really is 99% just brute-forcing through bad optimization.

Like what you need to understand that no game on Steam was made to run on Steam Deck. It's all a giant hack -- a fucking impressive one -- but a hack nonetheless.

 

Yeah I don't really use my Steam Deck as "portable" as much as "movable" and am often plugged in anyway and using it for the convenience of laying in bed or yeah on a vacation at the hotel

And I can find enough I enjoy on it, I don't really have any issues with games I want to play on it. It works out fine. But I know those problems do exist and I don't enjoy the optimization aspect of it

 

For the record my favorite thing to play on the steam deck was BlazBlue Entropy Effect and this is a full-throated recommendation.

 

Yeah, I love my steam deck lol but I know I’m not playing high end games on it, I save those for my actual PC. the convenience of playing like 70% of my library laying in bed rules
