Pitchfork is rightly being ripped to shreds over their coverage of this, stating that the title comes from "the death roll of Palestinians, as reported by Gaza's health ministry, in Israel's war against Hamas," with no mention of the genocide happening. Can't wait for this one.

WE ARE WINTER’S BLUE AND RADIANT CHILDREN (WAWBARC) is the new quartet of Mat Ball (Big Brave), Efrim Manuel Menuck (Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Thee Silver Mt. Zion), and Jonathan Downs and Patch One (both Ada). On “NO MORE APOCALYPSE FATHER” they present six modal lullabies drenched in seared distortion, slathered across striding electronic pulses.

 

This album is really good. Great time of year for it too.

A couple of tracks in and, can confirm, this is definitely a Godspeed You! Black Emperor album.

 

Wasn’t expecting this to be the best album released today but this is really really great.

This is stunning. They've been active longer now than they were pre-hiatus and they just don't miss.

 

I haven't listened to this one yet, but ahead of doing so, I've been listening to their discography one by one right before bed most nights. A lot to love

 

This one definitely comes closest to their pre hiatus sound. Really good album.
