it's a tough compromise to have the mic high enough for good posture but low enough that i can look at my pedals while singing

 

Might need to be able to muscle memory some pedals or get one of those multi switches OR get a guy to push em for you if you wanna save your neck

Or you can let your neck die of course that's an option

I'm not going to pretend like I have super good posture, it's just something I pay attention to lately as I'm trying to fix my own

 

no idea man. I think this recall affected something like 140,000 cars though

 

muscle memory is impossible I've tried it lol. I can do it with my fingers and hands but not my feet. I miss pedals even while looking at them lol

I could also try using two mics and one of them lower and angled upward that I sing into during very pedal heavy parts

 

I think two mics would be ridiculous and would also hinder your stage presence as a whole, please do not do that

I think a switch of some kind is the move, get something you can use to simplify your pedal actions

 

also because if you fuck up the "muscle memory" with your pedals its not just one off note, you could be accidentally turning on a messy effect that clutters the song, or accidentally kicking the volume knob down on the loop pedal and cutting the signal to your amps, or changing the tempo on a very tempo specific effect like tremolo or delay, or you could even straight up kick a cord unplugged

Helix snapshot mode is a godsend so emulating that in a more analog setting feels like the move

 

I know very little about this

 

I do too honestly I've really just seen others do it. But yeah having a switch that you connect all your pedals to so that certain switch options enable/disable certain pedals so you can have options specific to whatever song you're playing and only worry about that 1 button

On a Helix there's a setting dedicated to that but it can be done with actual physical pedals too using a different device

 

part of the problem also is, likely due to my background as a piano player, i don't tend to just leave effects on for entire parts of the song. Distortion I do but things like reverb, tremolo, and especially delay I tend to turn those on and off a lot, which makes it impossible to just stomp on a pre-set for all my pedals and leave it how it is

like, I take reverb out briefly when I want the guitar's rhythm to be sharp or when I want to emphasize a hard "stop" the band does and then turn it back on. I sometimes turn tremolo on just for one chord to decorate the way that chord hits and then turn it right back off. Delay I literally use like a sustain pedal and am constantly turning it on and off repeatedly so that the echoes are clean and you don't get clutter from one chord blending into the next chord and taking away the clarity.
