Said this in the other thread but I would find it HIGHLY unlikely she moves ahead with dates next week and also does ACL. Cancelling two big festival dates a day before likely indicates some big concerns and, understandably, I can't imagine someone who is dealing with this sort of mental health issue just jumping straight back into action 3-4 days later. Likely ACL is looking for a significant replacement next week.

Maybe it's a bad habit to make the assumption, but I kind of just assume that the very openly queer musician inspired by drag queens probably holds pretty progressive values even if she's not screaming "HARRIS/WALZ" from the rooftops, until explicitly proven otherwise. I also just think it's a bigger problem of most Americans tendency to say you must be this or that black and white thinking within the political spectrum.

The problem is that when you only have two options, and one is the worst candidate in us history who clearly wants to be a dictator, it’s time to put aside your asterisks and just fucking endorse the candidate who isn’t going to cause a full blown civil war. And this is coming from a registered republican. If you focus what you don’t like about her, you’re not helping to not get trump elected

Yikes. I just took a look, and the venue is still like 75% unsold. With only 40 days till the show they really gotta get the ball rolling.

I also bet this was a testing the waters for this supposed stadium tour next summer, and it failed.

all about this! I have a shit ton of problems with the Democratic Party, but I’m gonna vote to protect women’s right, separation of church/state, and to avoid a man that basically is going to form a militia and be a dictator to save his own ass from prosecution

And Chappell made it clear that she was going to vote for those things too
ENDORSING a candidate is not the same thing

John // OC now, OH forever.

Chappell said she’d vote Kamala but she wasn’t super stoked about it and people gave her a world of shit for it, then hammered on her mispronouncing Kamala’s name.

Really felt like people thought they were entitled to hearing Chappell telling people to vote for Kamala instead of doing it begrudgingly. People don’t want her opinion, they want their opinion in her voice.

I think the last time I was genuinely happy to vote for a candidate and not begrudgingly putting my vote towards the candidate with the closest values to my own (that could actually win) was voting for Bernie in the primaries. The experience of begrudgingly voting for someone despite your hang ups is not exclusively a Chappell Roan thing so it's fucked up for people to get upset at her for doing something I'd wager most left of the US Democrat party people in America are doing.

As an outsider it really amazes me how important is for some Americans that a celebrity endorses a politician or political party.

Like how Taylor Swift endorsing Kamala made a surge in voting registration. Like all those people were not going to vote and now they will because Taylor endorsed her?

Bright Eyes also cancelled the rest of their dates. Don't follow this band that closely but seems like Connor Oberst is a disaster these days.

They’re my favorite band and I have tickets to see them in April, but it’s such a sad situation I’d almost be okay with it if that show got cancelled too. I’d rather he never touch a stage again if that’s what it would take for him to stay alive and healthy and happy.
