Having so much fun with this so far, love how much it opens up after the first dungeon. So far I’ve found the ranch, and stumbled upon Kakariko Village, and just doing a bunch of side quests before even heading in the direction of the two story map markers. It’s obvious they took a lot of inspiration from BOTW/TOTK and thought about how to adapt those ideas into a more traditional 2D Zelda game.

I’ve played about 4-5 hours so far. Incredible. I love love love the blend of the LA Remake and BOTW styles.

On my 5th dungeon and I think my game is broken haha I am at the Lanayru Temple. I’m on B2 and I have put blocked on the two switches, assuming something would happen. But nothing happens. Whether I use legit or echo ice blocks. I can’t progress without a key now.

I googled it and putting the blocks on switches should have produced a chest with a small key. But nothing happens. There is a screen shot with the chest, so I know it should be there. But, still, nothing. I don’t know what to do. I’ve already reloaded my game.

This is the most fun I've had from a game all year. I keep picking up games and forgetting them after an hour or two, but just wrapped up th Gerudo temple and having a blast.

Side note, that boss battle was fucking rough and I definitely have no idea how I was *supposed* to beat it. I just took a very very long time launching the Peahat echo at it and trying to get enough energy to shoot it with arrows, but it took forever. Those Gerudo sandals were a must

    Overall, I enjoy it. I’m

I am not a fan of having to constantly build platform to get higher. I found or bought a frog pin that lets you jump a little higher thankfully, so it’s not as bad as it was. I find I can basically just use the same thing for all these parts so it’s kind of boring after a while. I guess I’m not huge on having so much platforming in a Zelda game.

And now that I’ve progressed I don’t mind using echoes to fight that much. It is kind of slow going at first due to limited tri powers and the lower level monsters. It was just slow paced. I’m glad they let a use a sword at times when the time calls for it.

Now with the nonexistent key, kind of bummed.

Getting Zelda’s personal bed is a total vibe though. Heals you so fast.

If you want some climbing advice : put a wall tarantula on a wall and grab onto it and let it pull you up. Makes things soooo much easier

I use the platform thing and that’s a big help. I just find it annoying to constantly be doing it. I don’t feel any real progression to it vs BOTW/TOTK you have increased stamina to help transporting everywhere. Not to mention ascend for TOTK. I dunno. It’s just not fully hitting for me. It’s an adorable game that I’m glad I’m playing, but I’m ready for the next Zelda already in some ways. Which is a bummer.

Greg, are you making sure both switches are pressed at the same time?

I spent the first half of the fight basically doing this, then I realized that if you got him to hit one of the statues during his charge attacks it stunned him for a LONG time. Leaving lots of time to swipe at it with the sword or let Peahat go to work.

I totally fucked up that fight. I stupidly forgot I had gotten the bow during this temple or right before. Would have gone so much faster.

Pro rupee farming tip: launch a crow at your enemies. It forces them to drop 5-9 rupees on the first hit. You just gotta grab them quickly though because your crows try to steal them from you lol

Also, ooooof. I just tried two very long attempts at fighting that electric cloud monster in a cave somewhere and just gave up. I nearly ripped my hair out when I realized there was a third phase

I send out a fleet of 5 at a time for some enemies and it’s so satisfying haha

I’m open to changing my mind, but I feel like this is going to go down for me similar to Skyward Sword. Some interesting ideas, but a lot of annoying/obnoxious aspects that will have me beat the game and probably never play again.

I was wrong. I ran into the same set up in another area and determined they did have to be pressed at the same time. I must not have. Ugh
