OK those are really cool from a collector standpoint, but calling like fifteen chips and a small cup of cheese dip "nachos" should be illegal.

 

this is mid as hell. new characters largely suck, two decent songs maybe, and it definitely has the feel of originally intending to be a series of sorts. some good moments, i guess the climactic scene. better than wish at least

 

This is everything I've been hearing across the board. Such a shame. My wife and I love the original and we're taking our kids to see it this weekend, but I've been preparing for a letdown for months now in light of the news about its production. Every single review so far has made mention of how noticeable it is that it was intended to be a streaming series, that because of that fact you can tell when certain scenes or storylines are seemingly cut short or when character arcs are either left incomplete or abandoned altogether, and that there's even a noticeable shift between the first half - when it's clearly the set up to the Disney+ series - before shifting to the makeshift alteration into a film to justify its existence in the second half when Maui is suddenly front and center after being mostly absent in the first half. And yeah, they all mention that the songs just really don't compare to the original.

 

pretty much. i wasn’t expecting greatness, but i also didn’t brace myself for how much of a harbinger for more disney bullshit it’d be. one character seems to mostly be there to build moana 3 up

 

Hoping my daughters are okay to wait until this hits Disney Plus. It doesn’t seem like there is a single new element to this film lol.

 

Taking my son to see this. He's obsessed with the first one and this will be his first time ever going to the movies

Ugh taking my kid to see it tonight. I hate packed theaters but this is a planned thing with her kindergarten friends so I couldn’t say no.

 

Theater was packed, but my son sat there wide eyed, with a huge smile on his face. So proud of him, for being almost 3, he did a great job sitting through it. He even told me to quiet down numerous times.

Overall, first one is still better. But they never mention the bat lady, at the end, what happened to her?

From what I understand she’s in a mid-credits scene that seems to be setting up a Moana 3.

 

God damn!!! Oh we are definitely getting Moana 3!

 

Of all the movies, my nephew wants to see this tomorrow. Last year, he had me take him to see “Migration,” which I expect this will just be as big of a nothing of a movie.

 

we could be looking at a minimum of five moana movies if the live action one makes enough bank

 

fuck this. glad i only saw it at a prescreening
