Are they really not going to announce any first party games for 2025 until the Game Awards?

 

I mean, here's what I know, obviously grain of salt because I am just some guy:

Bend has nothing yet
Sucker Punch has nothing yet
Naughty Dog has nothing yet
Santa Monica has nothing yet
Bluepoint has nothing yet
Firesprite has nothing yet

Studio Japan/Asobo just shipped Astro Bot
Arrowhead just shipped Helldivers 2
Firewalk just shipped Concord

Bungie has Marathon coming
Insomniac has Wolverine coming

am I missing anything?

I’ve been on one in Fortnite today, 17 kill 2nd place (smh), followed immediately with a VR

Seeing so many video game content creators bend the knee to Nintendo, praising & kissing their feet in the last 24hrs. It’s been been truly gross.

Regardless of how you feel about the situation, you won’t catch me hoping a giant corporation puts a small indie company out of business.

It's a step in the right direction, but we still need themes and folders

 

The update also borked a bunch of games on PS5 apparently like Rebirth

 

That looks wonderful, that level of customization is kinda way overdue but better now than never

 

A lot of those studios have put out games recently, should they be rushed to crunch and put games out? I don’t understand what people want. These studios put out massive games, are received well, and then go back to take time to work on the next thing, which takes 3-5 years minimum for a lot of those studios given the scale of the projects

obviously there is an argument to be made that games should be smaller scale to reduce development time but we know that’s not gonna happen lol

I guess they could look at buying studios getting closer to releasing games and make them first party instead

 

Do like Nintendo and sit on finished games until the time is right.

 

It’s wild to think about how many games Nintendo just has sitting waiting to release

This is totally fair. I think the main thing I’m surprised about is GOT2 not being ready to announce yet. I’d imagine the engine and a lot of the assets are the same but just improved for PS5, and they have already released a PS5 version of the first game. But I could be totally wrong, I know nothing about game development lol
