ive never cared so much about all the bells and whistles, but this looks a little more expansive than usual. maybe they had bigger plans but had to downgrade once the move back to douglass happened. one thing that stuck out to me, the kevin smith stuff is kinda...random? as a straight white millennial male, those movies were kind of a right of passage for me but feels weird at a festival that is so chicago do things that are so new jersey? the fireside bowl fascade is sweet though.

 

I’m guessing that’s because ChronicCon is a sponsor this year.

 

Clocked out, driving home with the windows down, my playlist blasting, off work till Tuesday, seeing Idles tonight. Yer boys locked in.

 

Is it just me or are they using way more of the park this year? Essentially every square inch of that side of the road it seems. In past years the track was always on the outside of the fences but looks like Riot Land uses alot of that area. Also looks like the food & "Beyond the Fest" areas make use of what I thought was previously a medic/backstage area.

 

I had the same thought but it’s hard to tell from the interactive map.

 

especially when this map suggests the track and field is outside the perimeter.

 

lol guess we'll have to wait and see which map is the real map. I'm guessing it's the static one you posted, though, and for whatever reason they took some strange artistic liberties with the interactive version.

 

I think it's just that the scale is all off on the interactive map so they couldn't squeeze all the Riot Land stuff into that one area.

The interactive map being from the perspective of looking south really threw me for a minute too.

 

I remember the one year they printed the map inverted like this and it was confusing as hell for a few hours.

But yes, I agree - the scale is off on the interactive map.

 

Lol same I had to pull up google maps to get my bearings for a second I thought they completely flipped everything around and the fest was literally happening on Ogden

I doubt they fill it or move anyone, they aren’t like Lolla and have acts on deck for that.

 

Man, that stinks for anybody hoping to see them. Riot just shared the post on IG without any commentary so… Not expecting a replacement at this stage and I doubt Waxahatchee wants to conflict with Pavement.

Basement bumping up into that slot would be awesome for me but I don’t see that happening. LOL Slot will probably just get nixed.
