I've got a lot in common with this Jack guy. I also wear earplugs in loud environments.

I mean, his profession relies a lot on his ability to hear, so i get it.

Nothing wrong with protecting your hearing... Honestly, I could do more of that.

I remember when I used to be in school (as a kid, was never done in college) and they'd run fire drills... Those alarms were SO LOUD that every time they'd do a drill, I'd have to cover my ears to protect my hearing, especially when walking near them before heading outside the school to get into our assigned lines.

Did the same thing for when I attended my first ever (and so far only) live rock concert back in 2011 for the Honda Civic tour for blink-182 (and MCR) where I got a good pair of earplugs so my hearing would be good (still) after the show.

How have you only ever been to one concert?!

Well I was going to see blink with a friend in 2009, but plans fell through so I didn't go... Then other years they were farther than I'd like to travel (only good time was in 2011 since the concert was close) then there was the Skiba era I wasn't interested in. Finally when they reunite with Tom, I now have health issues that prevent me from going to a show. They played in Philly near me recently, but sadly couldn't go (again health, but also the price).

Other bands I'm just casually fine watching them on streams or videos.

Although there are some bands like Sum 41 that I wish I was able to see live before they retire. Maybe in the future I'll be lucky to have my life in order and they'll reunite so I can see them live.

Heard. Sorry to hear your health, and maybe sometimes other things beyond just distance, have gotten in the way.
